EDIT: FINALLY! AFTER OVER 3 HOURS FIDDLING WITH KISMET IT WORKS PROPERLY! I am leaving the map "raw" so that people can copy the code into their multiplayer maps. noone should have to go through that.

Ok, as you can tell, this is pretty much the same map, no major changes that need highlighting.

Basically, one team starts as cog or locust, with the normal weapons layout...

And the other team start off as Boomers! How cool is that???

They have more health, but dont seem to regain it once you have past a certain point, whilst normal player's health does. They are slower, and (for obvious reasons) cant take cover. I have been playtesting it with some people and it seems to be pretty even.

The pickups the normal team has are a sniper and two frag grenades, it only takes one of these to kill a boomer if you stick them

PC Custom map.

@OP: I noticed the boomer's have smokes out.
Do the Boomer team just start with the default MP load out then?

They do, for now, Ill probably change them to boomeshots soon. ps. is there any way to kick all npcs at the end of each round?

Im busy making another one which you play as a beserker. think about it, small rooms, breakable walls, 7 guys, one really pissed off bulletproof gal

playing as the brumak doesnt work though.. actually, i just had an idea, using kismet its possible to script an action based on what button you press... so if you pressed right trigger... fires rockets...

So how is the Berserker working out? Can you do all the normal actions, walk-run-charge?

and what i have done, is messed around with kismet, and attached ai beserker charge to the right thumbstick, its working pretty well, itll charge you at a random player though, which is good i suppose, as you are meant to be blind

wow, this is great :)

not that I really have anything important to say, but I just wanted to express my interest in your map :D

(I especially find it interesting how you said you can bind an action to a button... such as the Berserkers charge/Brumak's rockets.)


It would be really cool if you can choose what you want to become (Berserker/Boomer/Trokia Gunner with the invulnerable helmet/etc) by walking over a trigger.

Looks very awesome Phayte, do you host your own games time to time then?
Cause I would definitely play online with a couple of people who have this map.
I'll send you a friend request later and you can host a game and invite some pople.

Hey... whaddya mean "if" possible.

Anyway, the idea for this came up while i was discussing what gears 2 might have, i suppose this is halo´s equivalent of juggernaut. and as i am typing this i have just had an even better idea inolving a rejigging of assassination and beserkers... whoever kills the beserker gets to be the beserker... except the cogs beserker would be a 7 foot tall Cole Train...

Hey Phayte, the map looks really sweet. Cool idea, too.

I have a quick question though. I noticed you're doing a rainy map and I was wondering if you have run into this problem. I have a piece of terrain with a wet mud texture on it, but when I compile the map, the specularity is removed from the material and it no longer looks wet. If I refresh the terrain material from moving the terrain or checking a box in it's properties, it resets the specularity. My map is still in whitebox form, so I haven't done real lighting yet, just white lights everywhere. So, I'm wondering if it has to do with that sort of blanket lighting.

Do you, or anyone else, have any idea what's causing this/how to fix it?

how do i get to control the boomers? When i touch any of the triggers, it just kills me...
im playing in the editor, and im looking at the kismet, and its not very telling because its a little sloppy (no offense) and i just cant manage to figure this out!!
