Custom character is weaponless

hi Im most of the way through bringing in a custom character for ut2004, but the weapons dont show on it in-game. Everything else is fine, the animations work, texs look good & are correctly named...

Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

found the problem, theres a few default characters that dont have the weapon bone.
