I don't know why they feel the need to do it, because really i never have, but when a host boots me because i'm winning just to preserve there win loss ratio is kind of pathetic a couple of examples would be forceofgod (he booted me after i killed 4 time in a row) and REDSASSY that one booted me when i was 9 kills away from winning the match, just pathetic.

Player matches don't count towards your win/loss ratio.

Yes, it is bullcrap when these nubs do this. Either way, I have started a blacklist on a site. If you want to add gamertags, just post or leave on comment on the page.

but even though it doesn't matter with your ranking in player matches in gears its still annoying that hosts boot you when losing.

I hardly ever boot, if I do it's for:
Making Room for a friend, but messaging the person I booted
Obsessive teamkilling fools*
Glitchers
Enemies that constantly use a cheap tactic
This mofo just joined my game, called Dannynumbernumbernumber, he teamkillls me, I'm like "WTF? O_o" and then he starts giving trash talk about how he can't teamkill me because this game is as laggy as crap, lol, he just sucked at sniping. Serious idiot though, I dun' like disrespectful players D=

Those should be the only reason you boot any one.

oh, ive thought of another reason i boot: if people are just being annoying (singing into their mike, playing obscenely loud music in the backround, etc) i will ask them to stop, if they dont, they are booted

Just played a Canals where someone (Must have been Host) was sliding Sniper across the bridge, Headshotted him and bout 2 seconds later the match quit

When host quits on ranked match, it's over. So it applies here as well.

Jaxx: I dont think booting for a friend is fair, id be mad even if i got a message explaining why. and whats your definition of "cheap tactics"?

The definition of a cheap tactic is based solely on whether the Host is dying to it or not in my experience. Having the host whine abuse down the mic to the point that he systematically labels every weapon and use of it as 'Noob' is amusing but I find being allowed only the smoke tag is ineffective against a host shotgun.

If your booted for how you play while keeping it all fair and legit (ie. not cheating) then the host is just abusing the system.
Same goes for Hosts that boot to make room for friends, the game has private slots for a reason. So use them.

Only reasons to boot someone are Cheating, TK'ing, being AFK and for disruptive behavior (blocking hammer door, tagging guys you're chainsawing, etc)

Though I would wager a majority of host booting is used against players that are killing them consistently. The 'Clan' with one member hosting is where I see it allot.
Players that take the game so seriously, talking **** about their 'skills', but at the end of the day a guy and his buddy who play like a week a month just humiliated you all.

The 'NoobClanWithHostBootingAllCapableOpposition' situation is going to be around as long as there are players that have inflated opinions of their abilities.

I don't get why clans get labeled like that. There are just as many people who do the same **** who aren't in clans.

Yeah but most clans I've came across A) Suck or B) Suck so much they boot me for hammering their arses. Clans of all people should be able to take competition, since that's sort of what the whole thing is about, right?

Their labeled like that because the label so often fits, to my memory nearly every clan I've ever played (9/10) has booted if I start winning consecutive rounds, or make a number of ego bashing kills (tags, chainsaws, headshots, etc)

If you're bothered enough to play in clans you're going to be more likely to be bothered by this sort of thing. You hear it on the mics all the time, people whipping themselves up into a frenzy because they died.

One other thing I'll bring up, since this is a booting thread is Guest booting.
That has got to be the most abused aspect of booting. When I've played with guest, against clans specifically, you can bet that any kill he makes will result in an immediate aneurysm *Bink* hes gone.

Seeing a team of two players with guests have their number halved because the hosts clan is losing is lame as hell.
Last time I saw that was canals, host wanted longshot. The other team had a guest aiming across with longshot. You can fill the blanks.
