Please can someone tell me what is the best game pad/controller to use for the game?

I have brought and tried like three and nothing happens!! I test them and they work fine, but will they work in the game nope!! I get nothing...

Hi I have tried a search and after glancing over like 30 or more posts I do not see what I am trying to find out..

Also whilst I am here, why is that we have to have an account to play this game? I have never known a game before that makes you use that windows live rubbish to play a single game!! I got my game from Amazon, but will it let me use my serial?? NOPE!! No idea why!! After registering like 3 accounts I just do not bother any more!! So I cannot even save my game!!!

I hope the next one sorts all this gash out!?

Thanks for your time

Best Game Pad to Use: Xbox 360 Wired Controller (works for PC and compatable for GoW PC)

Yeah I think M$ are stupid trying to force feed Windows Live subscriptions on PC owners with so little titles supporting it - who will pay £40 for a years subscription to FULL online play (you have limited on silver) for like 6 games or whatever. True, making an account is not an issue but people over flame about it because its Windows Live (you have to make a Steam account for alot of games and no-one minds :)) but it's not really suitable for the PC market at the moment.

Setting up a Silver account takes MINUTES btw so there's not really a problem :)

Sorry to hear about your serial key not working though, that is weird.

Yeah, it sucks that MS is trying to force people to use the one gamepad you don't have to mess around with button mapping and stick axes to get working. *shakes fist*

The 360 pad is the only good one. I mean GoW was MADE to work on it.

Actually, GoWPC was made for the mouse and keyboard :P

Here's a quick question.. Is there anyway to get a wireless 360 controller to work on the PC?

Yep. You need a wireless gaming receiver.

You can use wireless headsets with it, too.

You make a good point but how much do we have to pay a month for steam and its features?

Steam you'll always have a copy of your games to download, Live you lose your cd ... well its to bad.

Steam has ... dedicated servers! Live does on halo2 and what other games? I'm not sure, dont have the other hmm 3 games for live on pc.

Steam doesnt suck now, Live does suck now.

All I'm saying is gears wouldve been better without live.

Also any xbox style gamepad should work, the ps style gamepads are a no go.

I use a chillstream logitech that I use because its the only one I found at the time. For a cheapo its doing good enough, sometimes the left top button will stick but thats about it. Dam fan in it is loud as hell lol.

You have two choices.

1) Buy an Xbox 360 Wired Controller. There's only one kind of those so there's no chance of buying the wrong one provided you buy the official one.

2) Buy an Xbox 360 PC Wireless Connection Kit and a Wireless Controller. While this will cost you a hella lot more, if you want a wireless controller, this small little USB device lets your 360 wireless controllers hook up to your PC. You do NOT need this for the wired controller however, so don't worry about it unless you want a wireless controller.
