WARNING: Wall of Text alert! :p
I thought I'd start up a thread for people to discuss what they want to see and what they don't want to see in the sequel to the awesome Gears of War. Try to elaborate since it makes for a more interesting read :D
The Do's
Lots More Theron Guard in Single Player
Whichever people wrote the AI for the TG deserve awards. Okay, its not perfect, but that fight on the Emulsion rig was one of the most intense and unpredictable firefights in the game. In fact, in my opinion, its the hardest part of the game. More of that PLEASE.
More Fantastic Script / Voice Work
While the story wasn't clear for those following it before the game was released, I think the script was IMMENSE. Some of the lines were hilarious
"Yeah, like two a*sholes on their first date", "There's plenty of room, it's a f***in party down here" to name just a couple. More of the fantastic voice acting and brillaint script work and I'm a happy man.
More Boss Battles, Harder Difficulty
One word stands out to me for this part: Corpser. I defeated that thing in less than a minute first time on Hardcore. Literally, as soon as I found what to do, I nailed it before the exploding wretches even turned up. The boss battle seemed like it was going to be epic, but it wasn't. If they're not harder, I at least want them to FEEL harder and longer.
Party System
We definetely need one - ranked matches all too often have quitters left right and center. To counter this, follow in the footsteps of Halo's party system and have the system match players of the same amount (ie. 4 player team matches with another 4 player team, 2 player team matches with another 2 player team then fills remaining slots with randoms) and would also eliminate the boring lobby waits that plague Gears online.
The Don't Do's
Don't Increase the Player Count Online past 5v5
Yes, I would definetely like to play with more people on Gears. Would it suit? I don't think so. 5v5 would probably work, but Gears has always been about working as a team, outpositioning and flanking, gaining power weapons ect... With the inclusion of more than 5 players aside, I think it would start feeling WAAY to large - don't get me wrong if Epic go past it I trust them, but even Halo and CoD4 are generally teams of 4.
Don't Change the "A button does everything"
I couldn't see this being a change anyway, but I would NOT like to see one button does everything changed. It works perfectly, barring a few minor glitches here and there, and is essential to the GoW experience.
Don't Ship the Game with Host Advantage as present as it is
Personally, apart from in cases with the lancer, host advantage doesn't really affect/bother me. The only reason I would like this gone really is to shut up all the whiners and people on LIVE who want to blame every little thing on host advantage (even when your not host). I've even had people shout "ITS ONLY BECAUSE YOUR HOST TEAM" down the mic, saying that the host team all gets host advantage.

I have alot more Do's and a few more Don'ts, but I'll post those up later when my wall of text begins to crumble ;)
