I was looking at the Gears of War 2 review in the newest Game Informer and they showed a snapshot of the new and improved Gridlock. There are so many updates and upgrades it's not even funny. The sky is now a hazy orange instead of a normal blue. This is cool because now Gridlock has the new creepy unsafe feeling. The most notable thing is the detail in all of the cars. Those old fake looking wheels are gone and were replaced with a more realistic version. Theres grass now growing from under the cars. The thing I anticipate the most is seeing Tyro Station or another one of the original maps upgraded like this. Theres also some talk about the Unreal engine being able to include many more enemies than before without even touching the framerate. Now, finally us gears fans may be able to witness and be involved with a massive battle. Maybe with a 100 locust rushing us. I cant freakin wait till November!

It's a preview. Not a review, and yes, the new info does sound cool, but am I the only one who thinks that the remade Gridlock looks like Clocktower? =p

Not really, though it has the same kind of "vegetation taking over" look. I think the new Gridlock looks amazing - looks how it should be, less clean and prestine, more gritty and "destroyed beauty" like. :p

The Gridlock makeover that is shown in the magazine is a concept drawing, so I believe the final version will keep some of the main themes of decay and rubble, but will look a little cleaner.

Are you sure? It doesn't look like concept to me, since they call it a comparison it would both be screens most probably.
Also look at the vegetation sticking out from the cars - it's very "gamelike" and flat, and also the text to the side mentions how "the step up... more than obvious".

Not only these things have been redone, but go on YouTube and look up Gears of War 2. The environments are fully destructable. Play Annex just to annihilate the maps? I think so!
The new gridlock looks cool

It certainly does.... I dont see how it even resembles Clocktower at all... The Sky is Blue in Clocktower..or grey,w/e I dont look at the sky like a tardface... But still, everything we have seen about Gears 2 looks amazing... I cat wait to have the best Looking game in my hands, not only the best looking game but the best overall game..
