This question goes for the devs behind gears 2, i've been reading in many other forums people or fanboys claiming that gears 2 wont look any better than the first gears, since they all say that xbox360 is maxed out and it can't do graphics better than the first gear,i know that cliff b and the team developing gears are putting so much effort to make gears 2 more badass than the first one, but my question is does this kind of comments offend your work?its true that xbox360 is maxed out?

Have you seen the tech demos from the GDC? Head over to gametrailers and watch the HD videos.

Granted, it's not a huge leap in graphic in quality, but it is a little better. Also, you should try to think of games as more then just "pretty graphics". Last time I looked, there was a good story there too.

Better handling of speculars and lighting makes the characters appear more detailed, and stand out better in the environment.
Soft-body and fluid physics allow for better representation of non-ridged surfaces, like flesh or water.
Ambient occlusion mapping brings out the shadows and increases the contrast of objects in the environment.
Flocking technology will allow much better handling of multiple actors on-screen, improving performance and allowing a higher amount of detail to be added in for the same performance cost as before.
Real-time destructible environments will add an entirely new level of dynamism, realism and interactivity to the world.

And I got all of it from one official video. Whoever you've been talking to is pretty da** ill-informed.

Gears 1 pushed the 360 as far as Epic knew how to push it at the time. Now they have evolved their engine another step, and have a deeper understanding of the capabilities and nuances of the 360's hardware, and as a result are able to push it even further.

Also, look at those new scans on the net for the graphical jump from old Gridlock to Gridlock. It looks FAR better from that one scan.

You play Gears PC on max and you really notice an improvement to the graphics (though not majorly, but DEFINETELY noticable). Gears 2 will be the same, it will be better graphically so that you'll DEFINETELY notice, but I doubt they will be radically better since they are still some of the best graphics seen yet on consoles, if not the best still.

Right now, its still the best GFX on all Consoles IMO... And those people who told you Gears 1 is the max GFX for the 360 are retarded, Gears 1 is only half the GFX Capabilities.. When the 360 was made, they wanted it to be like XBOX and PS2, when starting off games will look Ok,not a major Leap forward in GFX,but as the years Pack-on Devs would learn to use the hardware and dev-tools more efficiently, if I recall a last gen game for XBOX and PS2 called Black, this game looks like it was made for 360..just imagine last gen games for the 360...

Besides, there was already a Tech Demo which looks way better then Gears 1.. I can just imagine the sense of realism with a touch of Fantasy.. **ORGASMIC** Not only is the Game going to look and feel better, but its going to Run better and more fluid then the first Gears which ran pretty damn Fluid.. I cant wait to hear what the frame-rate is going to be in Gears 2..Maybe the same as Gears 1
