Hey,
I started playing GOW recently. The installation was a lot of trouble due to compatibility issues with my dell laptop, but I finally got it to work.
Everthing was fine upto the 2nd level. Once the video goes on before level 2 the screen becomes fuzzy, like its snowing and after that I really cant see anything. I've been trying to fix this by tweaking my graphic settings but it doesn't help.
I've heard a lot of good reviews about GOW and frankly after all the trouble it took me to install it on my system and now the fuzzy screen , I think I'm about ready to give up.
If any of you have had similar problems, do let me know.
I'd appreciate any advice at this time.

We're gonna need a tidbit more info to effectively help you. Here's what will help us help you:
Your system specs (CPU, Videocard, OS)
The drivers you're using for your videocard
A screenshot of the fuzzy (optional, but may help u never know. You can take one with the PrntScrn button and then hit Edit->Paste in MS Paint so you can save it.)

Hey,
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400, dual core, 2GB ram, XP Home
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
Driver Version 8.261

There was a mention the same problem in an earlier post, but it was suggested that tweaking the graphic card settings would take care of it. It hasen't really helped me.

Appreciate the help.

Wow, most updated drivers and still an issue after trying the supposed only fix found elsewhere on the boards... You, sir, impress me. You are one of like 3 people that has THOUGHT before asking a question. Congrats.

Unfortunately, if you've tried the settings tweaks that worked for somebody else and still have the problem, we're slightly more limited by what we can suggest. What does your WarEngineUserSettings file look like?

Have you installed the Alky Project DX10 for WinXP stuff?

What tweaks exactly did you try? There is a thread in the UT3 forums that may help. You can find it simply by searching...

have you read "Getting Gears to work" by paul...something or other (his name is not exactly the most easy to remember)? There are some helpful things in there that may, but probably will not, help. Sometimes solutions are not directly recognisable as a solution.
