Why are people still moaning about the lancer?

Its an assault rifle, if I shoot someone with an M16 i expect them to die.

So if I have a futuristic style bad ass assault rifle then I expect them to get mowed down. Its only idiots that rush people from the other side of the map with a shotgun that complain about this.

i think the lancer and shotgun are well balanced. Maybe the shotgun needs fixing a little but the lancer is spot on imo.

I love the lancer. I don't really hear many people complain about it anymore though. Well, except for the few "lancer whore" remarks that you get every now and then. But I've come to expect that with every weapon at this point.

I am getting better at it, but host is way over powered with it. Like a 1 second down.

I only bìtch about guns if I'm off-host and the host keeps rushing to the same exact superweapon for the entire match. You'd be surprised how much they do that, as if they need the torque, boomshot, etc. They could use a Snub for chrissakes.

I'm not a lancer person but I won't moan unless the host is constantly lancering it seems so overpowered in a hosts hands. It's rare that I moan about it though. I've heard a complaint about every weapon apart from the boltak.

Every so often I'll turn on the mic and say "Just deal with it and quit crying."

same with the sniper yo, if i shoot u with a barret 50 cal anywhere in your body, that particular part its gonna be blown, now judging by the the shells the sniper drops after a reload, the sniper is a 50 cal, and people still complain about the 1 shot down, dang man its so frustrating lol!

i know, but its a REALLY high caliber power rifle, and it only downs in a certain area and under certain circumstances, and still its one of the most argued and wanted.out-ofthegame features..

I personally like the balance between all the weapons and the way they work, my only complaint is towards what most people have pointed out in the thread already, HOST, its so annoying. If a host has a bad connection his shotgun works like a boomshot.(maybe a bit over exaggerated but you get what i mean)

The lancer should be toned down just a tad bit. The shotgun is an amazing weapon and I love it but its so freaking random. One day you shoot someone from 10 feet and their head explodes and the next day you walk over,aim while they are standing still point blank,fire,and they still live. Make the pistol stronger and make the shotgun more accurate. As far as lancer goes I couldnt careless about it because it has a 60 bullet clip and it takes approximately only 10-15 bullets to down someone.

i think the reason people get mad at lancers is because the MAJORITY of Gears players use the shotgun because it is so effective and most of the gameplay is very close combat. The thing that angers me is when a whole team camps (this happens on raven down A LOT) and never moves from one section of the map and sits there shooting their lancers at my team. This is a decent strategy but not fun at all. I normally throw some frags and charge in because I get very impatient.

I agree to a certain extent. Sometimes its fun when you're on a team of randoms and just doing your own thing. But I do enjoy it when people on my team actually speak to me and try to win together.

The lancer does what it needs to and effectivly, it's an automatic firearm and isn't too easy to use so it has to be powerful. I must say when that "host" gets on it (I wan't to cut my wrists) ;)

Ya thats true, BUT, since this game is all about individual points, not team wins, I always just run around and have a good time. I am in the game to get the most kills and rack up points, if I win the game, cool, if not, o well as long as i got a lot of kills and points.

I dont get ticked when someone who is off host shoots me with a lancer.
I get ticked when the host shoots me with the lancer. Im not mad at the host, its the fact that its more powerful than anyone else's. especially with an active. But i just get really close and melee them...then here comes the 2 piece.

I personally love using the Lancer. People who complain about it are either too stupid to pull out a Lancer when your getting pelted from down range, or just suck at using it.

you have to remember gears is not your usual shooter where everyone dies in a few bullets. examples are call of duty 4 and rainbow six vegas. gears is more of a halo style shooter where it takes more hits to kill someone. the people who are still complaining are most likely people who have played this game since it came out and do not like realistic shooters.

you have to remember gears is not your usual shooter where everyone dies in a few bullets. examples are call of duty 4 and rainbow six vegas. gears is more of a halo style shooter where it takes more hits to kill someone. the people who are still complaining are most likely people who have played this game since it came out and do not like realistic shooters.

I have been playing this game since it came out and I think the lancers update was spot on. before that I wouldn't even use it as I thought of it as a useless weapon and rushed to swap it for snipers, TB's and booms. I still swap the lancer over shotgun cause the pistol is there if I need it, but I won't rush to swap it now, I will wait for rushers now and take them down with it.(And I never host)

Just the other night I was playing in a player match with my mates and this guy was firing his shotgun at 3 of us from the other side of warmachine, so we just swapped to lancers and kept downing him until he was dead,(execution) He then started shouting "only noobs use lancers" bla bla, for the rest of the match I used the sniper and kept taking his head off, which he then replied "your a noob use your shotgun like a skilled player". Yeah ok, I already killed him with the shotgun about 7 times in the last match. How stupid are some of these people on XBL?!

He's the one with no skill if he doesn't know which weapon to use in the right situation. Hell I even chainsaw, its there for a reason and its funny as hell. I don't whore it though, cause that does get annoying.

And I don't chainsaw if its 1v2,3 or 4 and I'm the 1 as its stupid to risk getting killed for one chainsaw kill.
