I know this is going to sound like tired tripe but "PS3 Cook Please"

Two of these (Can You See Me, and Kill The Best) are similar to my favourite mutator and custom gametype (Stealth Arena and Mutant respectively) and I would love to tryout Blindness and Kill Flare.

Been a while since I found a mutator that's really interested me.

A Ps3 cook will come eventually - as soon as they are out in the PC world for a while and it's known that there won't be future revisions, and when I'm ready to start cooking content for the Ps3. At the moment, we're focusing on getting week 3 down, and week 2 out of internal beta :)

First Week released ahah. Don't know you will post this here. I have to take care of what I release next time :p
Why not adding a link to the Dev Forum, we may have new contributors ;)

kill flare doesn't seem to do anything for me :(
When I kill bots theres no bright light/flare

The flashlights and dim vision ones don't appear to work for me (one at a time, both together or in combination with other mutators).
I can add them, but they have no effect.

I've not tried to others yet.

Edit:
"Kill the best..." and "Kill Flare" don't do anything either.
"Can you see me?" works.

Kill Flare (as it says on the first post) is known to have erroneous results. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't found a fix yet.

"Can you see me?" works.

Flashlight quite definitely works - the lights are relatively dim, and aren't obvious in a first person perspective. They are most obvious in team games, where the lights are red and blue respectively - you can easily see opponent lights.

Blindness should also generally work. It relies on post processing, so if you have it turned down, the effects may be negated (as with Kill Flare). Hit the best, not the worst quite definitely works, and there should be two players - one glowing red, and another glowing green (the worst and best player).

If these aren't working, I'm willing to bet your graphical settings are down low, and aren't allowing post processing or dynamic lights.

Nice idea.. but:

Blindness
Vision is NON darkened and impaired.

Can You See Me?
Players are NOT visible. (tooooo invisible.. but it's only my suggestion)

Flashlight
Players have flashlights, Yes. (maybe is more visible if the blindness would starts to work..)
But player have a BIG FRAMERATE DROP too.
(Core2duo6300 - 8800GT)

Hit the Best, Not the Worst
(Kill the best player (green) to score extra points, avoid killing the worst player (red) or lose points.)
Great idea (not new, but great)
What do U intend for "red" and "green"? Neither coloured skin nor beacon above the player. How can I make a choice which player I want to shoot at?
Another thing... It SEEMS that the +1 or -1 score doesn't works, but i'm not sure.

Kill Flare
Every time you kill an enemy you DON'T see a bright light.

EDIT: just read the above reply.. now I'll put the visual effect to the max and re-test...
RE-EDIT: k, tried. Quality 5-5 and post processing "Default".
I confirm my post. :(

...good start! :)

I've got post processing on default and quality settings on 3, so that probably explains some of it.

Ok guys, I'll look into it. Everything is working fine on our end, so it must be something to do with distribution. Hold tight.

Kill the best, not the worst sounds the best.

Few suggestions:

1) "Kill the best.." Can U put a "bad" song to inform who has killed the worst? (like a teamkill song , for example)

2) "Flashlights". This mod has sense if U turn the lights off with "Blindness". (another modder has already started a mod like this... search for "LightsOut")
However the framedrop is very relevant for me :(

3) Can U see me?". UT3 hasn't a good spatial sound like UT2004, so it's a bit difficult to find the enemies. Maybe a less-invisibile skip can help..

@Ambershee:
You can use the skin-overlay of the UT3-Invisibility-Powerup, so you can see the enemies a >little< bit better (in dark maps). I have done it in the >StealthArena< for me, and it's fun.

@UDoKuoio: bonus/malus is +3/-3 that's hardcoded in the GameRules for now. I appreciate your advices but as ambershee said we won't make any modifications because there's a new theme every week.
I keep your advices for next mutators;)

Yeah, we won't be making any additions to the mutators - they're written as an exercise, under a strict deadline. I am however happy to personally take the extra time out to ensure they work for other people and are fixed up.

I'll be updating the download when I get home from work. Hopefully someone can let me know if everything is working happily.

Sorry.

I didn't realize that the your 1st goal was to work for your own (create something in a limited amount of time) and, IF there's time to spend, give to the community something enjoyable.

Maybe it's a strategy to build a stress-proof team.
However, the "product" have to work well in the customer PC (the UT-community) before the deadline, or the deadline is menaningless as it is now.

I visit often this forum 'cause UT3 is born dead in Italy and I hope someone here can make something special to the community, where Epic didn't.

GL for your weekly works!

With the amount of time modding can take out of people's lives, everyone mods for their own enjoyment first and for a public release second ;)

Except the few glory seekers.

Daz is bang on the money - the idea is to write something to experiment with code - it's a learning exercise more than anything else. If things get finished, then they're passed on for people to play (and there's no reason for them not to be).

Thanks for the well-wishing :)

How about you start sharing... I share content, and I'm a PS3 user, if it's going to be like that, then I'll cook my content for PS3, and just not release it for PC.

DazJW

They're not going to get PS3 cooked when a fair few people have said they don't work on PC are they?
