hey guys

just thought i'd let you know I recently reviewed a handful of SP maps made by you fella's over at www.moddb.com. Reviwed maps include Namtar, Nergal, Square, Locust Park and Rubble. The site admins have gone to the trouble of uploading the maps to moddb too so people can download them and play your excellent work!

I try to be as fair as possible with reviews, and I just wanted to let you all know that while there were some I enjoyed more than others they were all really fun blast fests and I'd love to get any of your future work more coverage. Gears of War doesnt have NEARLY enough attention from the mod community which makes the work you've done all the more impressive.

thanks, you'll find the reviews at

www.moddb.com (http://www.moddb.com)

Thank you for taking the trouble to review, it is very flattering. It is especially nice because of the low traffic and feedback around here. Now I am scared of what I might read but I have to go look now! One of the commentors expressed interest in contacting the map makers, so would it be too much to ask to add a link to my website under my name? http://myrm.deviantart.com

Coincidentally I updated nergal yesterday to fix some little bugs. Can you update the file on your website? You can download it here.

Also, do you know if the page with the reviews on them are going to be archived or if the link will stay the same? I am linking to that page from my level design portfolio is why I am asking. Anyways, thanks again!! We need all the help we can get to try to stimulate this community! We need more people like you!

Do you plan to do another segment like this in the future? If so, you should really review theinterlock's Raven Search, it is excellent! I am going back to fix up and polish my first map locust park. Have you played it? It would be nice to have it reviewed at some point after I fix it up a bit if possible.

if you want to link to the article i'd say use this address http://www.moddb.com/members/39699/koroshiya-ichi/features/26770/gears-of-war-sp-maps

also I am going to add all my articles/reviews to my gaming web site when it goes live, so itll be there too and ill update you when that happens

i will indeed do something similar but it wont be for maybe 2/3 months. Im really trying to generate some interest in modding games that dont get so much coverage, so i'd prefer to space it over time so there is always something in peoples faces. Too much in a short space of time and everyone will just forget

What I'd really like to do next time is a review/interview article, where I review some new maps but also interview the authors, talking about the process they went through to build the map and their opinions on the GoW modding scene. There's plenty of life in this game yet!

Ill send your portfolio through to Sinking! As I say ill definately do another article later down the line, im working on my own GoW mod at the moment (very simple, Marcus Fenix vs a Tyranid Carnifex lol) so ill post it here first to get some feedback.

cheers again, keep up the great work!
