i apologize in advance if this subject has been covered already, but i did a search and came up with hundreds of topics and the one i found that matched my question was too vague to really answer me. i am using the "glass" static mesh from the LT_Walls package and it looks awsome, but it is reflecting the city from the stock map, a city that is not in my map to be more precise. is there a way to either "remove" that city reflection from that glass without screwing up the original mesh? or how do i simply make my own clear glass to use in my map. a decent tutorial would be greatly appreciated as i am a noob when it comes to making my own textures and materials. thanks in advance for any help folks! :D

the cityscape is part of the glass material i believe. you could look around for a clear glass material and replace the material thats on the mesh

Or, you could just open the material, copy everything, paste into a new material, connect everything the way it was in the previous material and finally remove the cubemap texture from the material.

is it possible to copy items from a "stock" mesh? i haven't been able to copy much of anything from stock items such as emitters and materials. and.......if it is, is the cubemap that needs to be deleted actually called "cubemap"? i'd hate to delete the wrong item and screw it up.

it is possible to copy a stock material, and normally you will find the material which is assigned to the mesh in the same package... and here's how you copy it: right click on the material, material editor, ctrl+alt+shift drag and select everything, press ctrl+c (for copy), right click in the generic browser and pick "New material" (enter the package name where you want the material to be placed in, which most likely has the same name as your map), press ctrl+v, connect everything like it was connected in the material you copied it from, you should also change the material's properties to match the material you copied.
Finally, to get rid of the cubemap (reflection), there's probably some boxes which in is name includes "cubemap", delete all these and everything it is connected to that has something to do with the cubemap, to fill out the missing inputs of the "multiply" boxes, just create constants with 0 as value and connect those to the missing multiply inputs.

Uh you do not need to copy that material at all! Make instanced material and change its Cubemap property. This one can be instanced!
