bsp locked??

all of the sudden (while mapping), my bsp is lock and grayed out. i can see, but only barely and the editor is not letting me select it. i realize that i did something to cause this, but i have no idea what and i've tried just about everything i can think of. and usefull suggestions for fixing this will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

You probably have the viewport in brush wireframe mode instead of wireframe mode. One of the cubes at the top of the viewport.
