I would to update the post with the new rebuilt map with High setting. This version fix the lighting errors that Core2Tom and VILLaN report me, thank u guys.
Here is the final beta, please review and comment to improve it. The final part of this SP Map is like a hell remember that the checkpoint aren´t avalaible. The map ends when u reach the headquarters I want to put some cinematics and finish it well. Headquarters will be the next map. I let here a snap shot of the new map:
Headquarters will be a underground map, something High Tech like a LABs or something like that.

There is a new garden zone, with a lot of new stuff
Here is the Beta 3. A lot of things were changed in this map. The initial sequence was removed becouse of the problems with the decals and the first area of the map was also changed. A lot of details were added to reach what i had in mind. Enjoy it
Please review it and please all the comments are very welcome.
No checkpoint coz it still crashing. The difficult setting its to high, I don´t now how to change it. The kismet instruction to do it doesn´t work I think
Some ingame instructions were added (Thanks Zackiz) to do the game line more friendly.
Finally I change the road from a static mesh to a BSP surface. (Thanks Kronos) But no directional light was added.
The final part of the map (When you reach the garden) will be finished in the next weeks. I have to go to Chennai, India to business travel.

A bit of History:
The CGO team are searching a platform inside the City, following the main road they found many enemys to defeat. When they finally reach the raven platform something will be wrong with the raven. After u have to find a way thru the Warehouse to check whats up with the Raven.
The new Mid Zone was improved a lot.
The building with the bridge was whole rebuilded, I have to add some details inside but its more or less completed
The final War will be amazing I promise that.

This map is the one of a trilogy that I have been designed. This is only a beta version. I have to debug the kismet sequences and add some new feature to the videos.
I dont know why but the intro video its seeing in low resolution although the material that I import is a high definition texture.
Still having problems with the checkpoints and with some triggers.

This map was beautiful! Nice intro :D Cool middle sequences. But a little text now and then(small pointer on what to do next) would have been nice, since it's quite large and it's switches directions. It was alittle confusing from time to time. I've played so long that the helicopter came and almost blew up. After that, nothing else happened. Was the map finished after that? Also, I found a room that I prolly shouldn't have found. It's the room on the other side of the bridge that the snipers are on. Looked like a testroom of some sort ;) There was some places where the AI stuck really bad for me. Different places on different playthoughs so it's hard to say why. But there was some place that a coverlink must have slipped because the done was taking cover in the open field.
Overall though, this was a great map :D

Thank u Zackiz, this things will be fixed at final version. I´m trying to use the objectives Adviser to tell what about but its very annoying becouse all that I write comes with a text added from the editor. You are right at all.
After that the next level will be activated like in the game then u can cross thru this room and arrive to "the Garden" it will be the next SP Map that continues from this ones, I want to do a Trilogy. In the full version of Raven Search the door remains closed and when marcus kick the door the level ends. However I want to learn exactly how can i do it to finish this level as I wish.
You are right also about the AI(Some times I think that they are not so "I") this things were fixed one time and another but when I rebuild paths they come again. Like in one coverlink that it is in one white trunk, the AI keep stand when it should be in a low possition.
By the way, What about the lights, emitters, cutscenes?

I played through it and got tot the part the helicopter almost exploded.At the helicopter landing are, I found a bug. When you walk along side of the PAD, you can get on the helicopter landing and when you try and go on the cliffs in the back you just fall off the map. I tried reloading checkpoint and it did but I respawned at bottom with the lift still up. So I could take a pic or record a small video to show you.

As I Told above is just a Beta. I would like to fix all the bad things that will be found by yours. Actually I´m changing the buildings and adding some decal to improve the map. And fixing some troubles with the cover links.
It will be better.

Well, by now I fix all this things that Zackiz and COOLCAT12 explain above. Also I improve the final sequence to give sense to the end and I´m adding the objectives advertaising now.
Some cover links were fixed also and a redistribution of the staticmeshes to keep the warzone more closer.

Now I can not open some UPK libraries AND THE EDITOR CRASH ALL THE TIME I CANT FINISH MY MAP. WTF is this?
PLEASE EPIC FIX THE EDITOR.

I recently had a serious crashing problem with my new map, but I managed to fix it after a few hours. I don't know if it's anything like your situation, but I can tell you what I did anyways. For my maps, I always save frequently and do a save as before any major changes or feature additions. I almost went through the alphabet before my level started crashing the editor when i would try to edit stuff or rebuild. MapNameA, B, C, etc.
I had to check my previous versions, try rebuilding each one, and keep going back until I had one that wouldn't crash. After that, I figured out a great way to save time and get my map back to its previous glory. I would enter the latest, crashing version of my map and copy certain sections, be it pathing, kismet code, architecture whatever. But I would only copy each individual section one at a time, paste into my non crashing version, and it would paste in the exact same spot. Then I would do complete rebuild and check for crashing. Then I would repeat, copying and pasting each feature I needed. Your last resort would be reinstalling the game and editor, but remember to back up your autosaves and map files!

Thank u. I´m happy to be not alone with it. I have been taking by work procedure do a save all each few minuts and whe I want to do a bin improvement starts from another location to avoid lose anything.

Zackiz, What u think about my map? And What do u think about join our efforts and build a entire mini game? I was thinking in "Far" also, his map is a pretty good job.
Maybe it will be an crazy idea but I think we have too much to offer, don´t you?

beta 2 ... download and reviewthe "MyPackage.upk" file was missing and lightning had to rebuild :D ive done this 4 u my friend
extract the .rar to your "My Documents" folder
start game, open console and type "open CityofWar_RavenSearch_beta2"

I've played so far to to get to the troika and then the whole game crashes for me. I've played so far 2 time and both times it crashed there :( (I've played it more those time i got killed ;)) So far, i find it good, no strange AI and stuff. Looks good so far. I'm going to try it a couple of times more later, but this is what I've experienced so far :)

Dear friends I´m so sorry about these problems that all of you have, I was testing the map again after core2tom told me about the errors but I don´t find where the problem is. I can play old the game all the time without crashing. I change also the zone where the game crash coz I add there a walking volume and I think that maybe it could be the problem. Actually I´m in Chennai, India in a business travel and from here I´m not able to upload to other different site, sorry.
I hope the next week when I come back to spain I can resolve all these errors.

Hi, zackiz if u open kismet there is a sequence called trigger inside should be there a trigger that I put just in the playerstar area. I was wondering if you use this trigger to teleport the player to some point after the zone where the game crash to see whats happend. If not crash I can know where is the problem in the map.

The initial seq was removed becouse of the quality of the decals. I dont know why but the resolution and quality of the decal that I use in the main title changes by itself. I'm so sorry to hear this again. all the covers slot are new. I play for long time with this map in game not at editor and works ok.
Core2Tom: Maybe you can try to erase this part I mean delete the troika and some meshes and change the kismet sequence to jump this part.
I change a lot of thing to asure that this map works

I´m very sorry about that. This maps was tested ingame for a long time. I dont know what is happends.
I have the same mistake with a Far´s map, I think. When the game try to load Eba.upk file the game crash aswell the editor.
I think there is the error. I want to try to reinstall.

I dont know if this map works or all the people has the same mistake like Core2Tom (Danke fellas).
I dont know if the lights are ok.

I dont know if spawn seq are good.
I dont know if I have to put something more or get it away from the map
and I dont know why I´m writing all of this if anybody will post nothing about it.

Well, I dont know what we´ll have to do to avoid these crashes. I´m reinstalling gears of war game right know coz some maps from this forum also crash to me.
In the latest weeks some upk packages starts crashing when i try to load it in the editor.
And when I try to load a map already coocked the editor crashes aswell.
I think that there is the error.
Maybe if you try a diferent configuration in game the map works.

i can load the map...yes...and maybe it works... but when i move (with mouse, gamepad or keyboard) the game quits :confused: dont know what could be the reason

let me explain you something. Since a few weeks a lot of packages start working into a crazy way and a lot of maps from epic forum doesnt work also. today I remove and install again the gears game and all is ok again. nothing crash and all the maps are working properly.
Maybe u can try this one?

Hi, i've just tested your map
I don't know of if i'm stupid or i just found a bug.
First of all the map doesn't crash, i can move and fight without problems.
On the long street before the elevator, several locust snipers nagging me. Some doesn't come in my Line of Sight, so i can't kill them and the movie with the Raven don't show up. My teammates get stuck at the fence with a locust behind.
I have to use the elevator to get up and kill the last locust snipers. Now the Movie with the Raven show up. After the movie i was back at the street. My team is still stuck before the fence.
I have to use the elevator, to get behind the fence and push the trigger, but now the elevator doesn't work.
May be i was doing something wrong, so please correct me, cause the map is really great.
architekture and texturing is great... so great that the game is lagging, though all other maps work fine. Maybe you can optimize the performance.
In some locations you need to add some lights.
Thats all in the moment, i hope you can use my comments

After the raven movie the elevator is disabled then u have to find a way inside the warehouse that is across the snipers bridge and then the map follow with more fun.
I dont know maybe its to huge this map but my computer can handle it pretty well.

eh No, when u are on top of the raven platform u aren´t able to go down again. At least sould be in that way. To enter to the ware house u need to enter from the sniper bridge and then go down to open the door then the another door is activated, the garden door.

OK, i've play it again.
Its very nice and very beautiful and works fine, beside the fact that i still have very low performace.
Its a bit frustrating that you have to start again at the beginning, especially when you are playtesting ^^
@gospastic you need to copy the .war files in mygames\gears of war for windows\wargame\published\cookedpc\maps
in the game open the console and the files with "open MAPNAME"

thank u for test the map. There is a real problem with the checkpoints I´m making a new rebuild with level streaming to avoid start from the begining. but I not pretty sure if this will do the checkpoint work coz Epic launch a Mutliplayer editor and all this things like checpoints and objectives are disabled in the MP config. Then maybe doesnt work for big maps or SP.
I´m developing my second map and I´ll do this from the begining

Fully Tested! all problems now solved Good work :P
This is an amazing stage took me 30+ minutes to complete and i gotta say wow :P I LOVE THIS Map (IMO it topped HQ) it really has a Gears of War 2 feel the battles are all epic especially the final battle ( i wont spoil it for you guys) and the sniper bridge battles with the AI were the most fun i have ever had with a sniper in Gears of War Single player. yes your maps to epic :P
ok some tweaks...
bring back the intro of ravensearch from your beta, it really sets it up the scene nicely especially if your thinking of adding it as a trilogy with SP_Stadium with Chapter 1,2 & 3, also great cue for Headquaters at the end of the map (brilliant)
players dont seem to follow at the beginning of the map but come home strong at the end, some squad commands will be nice.
add dialog between the players to give it story eg Sniper bridge,helipad and final battle to give it the last bit of polish. also add text to the objectives if ppl get stuck or dont know wat to do (lol its very straight forward)
at the begging make the locust absorb more damage or make them harder as the rest of the level is tough, also add 2 or 3 more snipers at the bridge that just doesnt get old :P
if you havent already downloaded now is the time to give it a go! i guarantee you wont be disappointed, i will post up some high res screens soon of my playthrough.
