This is a Gears of War map set in a city near the docks. I put a LOT of thought into the game play to make it balanced and fun! :D

I currently need people to help me play test it. I put alot of thought into the gameplay and I want to see how it turns out. Add me! My GT is Xyius

wow, how are people so damn good at map making? How do you put the static meshes together for the buildings so well? where did you learn?

just got done playin it and it is one of the best so far. It just needs a little bit more lighting in some areas (where the boom shot is) and some cover spots need some fixing. Other than that its amazing. Where do you start when you are making a map like this?

As for my mapping experiance, I mapped for years on the Source engine. After discovering how much easier and better the Unreal Engine was I moved to this. I LOVE the Unreal engine.

Looks like you have city building nailed! This looks really amazing.

I must say, however, that from the screenshots it looks like you could really use some colored lighting to give your map a distinct mood to it. Right now it looks a bit to generic to be honest. Never underestimate what colored lighting can do to a map. I was blown away by how much my own map changed once I added some moody orange lighting.

Note taken. :p I did use different lights inside to help it feel more "cozy." But I guess I could have used some on the outside too. Thanks for the feedback! :)

good to see you got the map up and running. I took a quick tour and I have to say this map is pretty cool.

As some already said lighting needs some work both inside and outside.

One thing I did not like too much was the blur effect of distant buildings... they don't look that far given where the player is, perhaps some more buildings or rubble in the way of distant buildings and the play area to have some destroyed structures in view...

Not too sure about those tight hallways, seems like a death trap, if you can open them up a little with maybe a small piece of cover in the middle of the hallway to crouch behind, can become a neat standoff location...
