Hi everyone!

Name:DM-Weaponize

Version: Beta 1

Compat: UT3 Patch v1.1

Description:
Bio-goo is bio-goo to most people. There are few who consider the weaponization process of the stuff. Think about it: falling into a goo pit is hardly immediately fatal, but a concentrated blast of weaponized goo from the GES BioRifle almost always results in your final, painful moments.

This facility is one of many assigned the task of sequencing and weaponizing the slimy, smelly, toxic result of tarydium usage. By allowing the large volumes of toxic sludge to become stagnant and elementally separate, weapons manufacturers discovered that it was possible to create a concentrated toxic-corrosive substance that would stick to and eat through just about anything. Thus, the BioRifle was born, and Sequencing/Weaponization facilities began to appear, usually as underground counterparts to the Decks. Why dispose of something when you can put it to good use?

This is (quite obviously) a beta release of a DM map I put together over the holidays. Hopefully you will enjoy playing on it. Currently it has weapon support, but not bot support. I would recommend it for 4-10 players, depending on how crowded you like it (supports 20). Some things I plan on adding are:

-More fleshed out meshing, so the end product will look less bare.
-Player and dynamic lighting (currently all the lighting is static)
-Post processing
-Some light particle effects
-Blocking to prevent getting out of the level
NOTE: As it is, getting out of the level will do no you good, and there is no kill Z...just a lot of empty space.
-A much nicer looking security tower...the current one is UGLY
-Bot support (coming soon!)

As far as play on the map goes, the weapons are spread out fairly evenly. I put it together with players who like more advanced movement in mind; the catwalks can be dodged between, and you may find that wall jumping comes in handy. That said, don't trip over the pipes in the lower area, and never forget that a sniper may be peeking through the windows.

Right now I just want some feedback on how it plays, so any criticism you have is welcome.

If you really want this level to get downloads and for lots of folks to provide commentary (not just two or three) then you need to add some sort of bot support even if it is basic. Have someone in this forum give you hand ... they will be more than happy to assist you ... this is a great dev community.

I hope to see this soon. Good luck. :)

Edit: It would also be a good idea to use the format stated by the forum rules when you make a thread for your releases. I would suggest you edit your thread and use the correct format before a forum mod comes by and says something.

Basic pathing is very easy; just throw around PathNode actors and rebuild. Press P to see the paths it created for you.

One other thing you'll need is screenshots.

Yeah, if you don't want to bother with the pathing, heck, I'll do it. lol

It really takes very little time, just toss a pathnode here and there, then rebuild paths. You don't even need to rebuild lighting, just make sure to rebuild paths or the game will have problems and/or crash on ya when bots come into the match.

As Xyx said, needs screens or people won't download it. Some people only like certain themes and stuff and it really takes one or two cool visuals in screens to get people to take the download, especially since alot of UT3 maps are huge.

Thanks for the pointers...duly noted. I plan on getting bot paths in ASAP, and will update when I do.

Since this level is small enough the bots do fine on their own. Once bot pathing is in it will be better but for right now it is still very fun to play against the bots.
