What is so bad about pistol whipping? why does everyone get so angry when you grenade tag, but active reloaded shotguns are "the manliest thing in the game"? why is it so cheap to shoot a boomshot into a crowd, but not so cheap to active a sniper (i mean, shooting when you pick it up, Active Reload, reload fades, AR, etc, etc, etc).

If you pistol whip someone, you have to be right next to them, hit them twice, and either time you swing, if someone else shoots at you, your more than likely dead, but active reloading with the sniper, you can be halfway across the map (any map) and you'll down anyone with one shot.

i play off and on, so i guess i dont really understand everyones thinking, so if someone could explaign this to me, that would be a big help.

First off, that's not pistol whipping; That's just double meleeing, and you can do it with any non-lancer weapon. Pistol whipping is putting 2-3 shots into someone, then meleeing them.

In my opinion, it's not cheap..... I just never expect it. I've never understood people who melee at close range when they can easily shoot a gun. People get angry at it because well.... Some people don't know how to counter it, and other people get mad because they aren't good enough to stop it :\.

Its simply people being immature. They get mad just because they died. Doesnt matter how they got killed, they are going to whine and complain not neccessarily because they got frag tagged or melleed but because they were not fortunate enough to prevent it from happening. This is why I did not talk to people when I played this game. Even when I one shot downed someone whith the shotgun People still complained like I had some kind of cheat code or something. Funny thing was I could hear them and I would listen for people to complain and when I got called a "Frag tag whore" I got my moneys worth. Even if I died too, all I did was frag tag or whatever they were complaining about. If you get close to someone, be prepared to get meleed. There is no "Official Rule Book" for this game so I say if you can do it, DO IT and just mute people who think there is a certain acceptable way to kill someone.

people melee at close because some guns, lets face it, arent good at close range (i.e. boomshot, torque, and the HoD) unless you know what your doing with them. i have to agree with you though, i dont think its cheap really.

I do melee with Shotgun/pistols every now and then, simply because most folks with shotguns simply want to go for the splatter that we're all accustomed to. Melee'ing usually stuns your opponent so you can either get a safe distance to fire or kill them neigh immediately. The shotgun one is still a little iffy.

For a Pistol, or any weapon for that matter, I think Cliffy B said it best in one of the EGM magazines. He said that while that guy was running up to melee you, you could have done any number of options. You could have shot him with a different weapon or backed off. In either case, any time you get melee'd is your own fault.

In short, is it cheap? Absolutely not. You can melee with every gun and most of them work pretty well with it. You can toss this in the pile with Lancer Kills, Chainsaws, Frag Tags and Hammer of Dawns. People will complain about anything that causes them to do what they don't want to do, which in this case, is die. :)

People just like to complain about everytime they die. I rather get chainsawed, beatdown with a shotgun, pistol or frag tagged then get beat down with a long ranged weapon (torque, sniper etc).
