Probably the best game I have ever Played !! (after an initial let down, and total disappointment)
Once you get used to the differences, in both looks and play/feel, it just becomes so much better. At first the visual style was just so off putting for me, it just looked way different or something, but then you get used to it, and begin to actually appreciate the graphics. The same went for the gameplay/movement and general feel of the game. At first I wouldn't have given you 5 cents for it, but after giving the game a decent amount of time, and trying to look beyond those things that were putting me off to begin with, man this game is fun, and it just seems to be getting better the more I play.
Looking past all the obvious stuff, the GUI, Server browser, etc, all those flaws we are all very aware of, was a must for me, looking past all the things that I missed from previous UT games, also a must, if I wasn't prepared to do that, I wouldn't have found the great underlying game that is at the heart of UT3., and today I would most likely not be playing the game, it would be uninstalled, and packed away to gather dust. But as luck would have it, I carried on to find the diamond among the rocks, and am glad that I did.
Lets hope that the game just continues to get better through patches, bonus packs, and user made content, and most importantly of all, that player numbers increase. Without those player numbers, we may not get all the good stuff we might otherwise get with a thriving community, maps, mods, mutators etc.
Long Live UT3 !!
