UPDATE - BETA2:
-adjusted lights a bit (still need to work on them thou)
-added a 10 second delay between the alarm trigger in the trap room
-added pickup lights
-added a bit better looking sky (also needs still some work)
-bots should work better with lifts

UPDATE - BETA3:
-futher light adjustments
-changed some textures abit
-added and deleted some stuff indoors and outdoors
-added a "small" thing in the background :) (see new screens)
-the "trap room" lockout will be now triggered only when you get close to power-ups

This is my first map ever for Unreal games, so don't be to harsh on me :)
DM-ACID is a medium-large map, in which battle takes place inside, outside, underground and aswell on the roof of the two floor factility. There are lots of weapons, ammo and health around, so the action can get quite fast, especially in the narrow corridors. One of the cool things in this map is, that i also included a small trap-room, smilar to the one that was in DM-Pressure in UT1 (press "E" on the console located near the room). There are also 2 "tank stations", from which you can shoot the roof and the main entrance, BUT if someone manages to press the button on the consoles, (which are in range of your tank shoots) the trap door opens and you with your tank are going bye bye :P
I am aware of some bugs in this map, and still some work is need to be done with it but i would like to share it with others to hear opinions about it.

NOTE: Bots are working, however they are REALY buggy and got some large problems with lifts :P They still are fun to play with tho :P

wow, this is really good for the first map! i'll try it and then i can tell you something, but what i can say from the screenshots:

-at the 3rd screen, lightning seem a little too bright, maybee add more shadows and dark places or just tone brightness down, to make the whole room feels more industrial and scary-abandon ;)
-a the 1st screen, i think you overworked with the small lights, it is like the control panel of spaceship or a christmas tree, looks a little out of place... maybee reduce a bit source of lights, but make the whole outside area more brighter.

this is just my thoughts depending on a quick look at the screenshots...
but this might be helpfull to create more "unreal" atmosphere... and sorry for bad english.

hey, seems that all folks are preparing for the holidays.
i've played ur map, and it plays pretty good, but theres some thing that i think may be improved: outdoors looks little empty, while the indoors looks a bit overgrowth. theres some things that prevents you from moving fast and feel the freedom of movment - theres some kind of tubes that you cannot normally jump of, but also cant fast dodge under them... and maybee think about more improved background, it looks ok, but maybee you can add some details? )

overall, i've got much of fun playing this map) ty!

This is looking really good for a first map congrats :) My impressions were that it was a little too heavy on health. I also thought the green glowing pipes in the floor looked great and maybe one or two more of them would be good. Looking fwd to finished product, like the layout

Oh yerh I forgot usually when you go in acid on these sorta maps it kills you gradually not instantly like it seems on this map. If you could tone down the damage dealt that could be good too

RE- an earlier feedback comment. I agree that the outside is too plain (although, obviously this is still a WIP) but think if your going to tone down the brightness inside only do so a little, as the green glow gives such a good atmosphere of the peril that waits underneath you.

To be critical, the light looks washed out and to saturated, maybe need to work on that.

Real good map!
Only real thing that i didnt like to much was the winding rooms with the acid.
Instead of running around avoiding falling in; i found myself just jumping off the balconies to get into the action faster. Did not want to watch my footing that much.
Thats only a prefrence issue though
