Looks good but why do your folks who do the ONS remakes insist on leaving orbs off the level? I know it is a remake but it should fit into the new game as well and there is an option for playing without the orb so people can have more flexibility and play your map as War maps are intended to be played or just play them ONS style. Anyway please consider adding orbs back. I'll download this and give it a run through after I play the ONS version and give you some more feedback. I appreciate that you are making a WAR map so definitely props for that. :)

I remember now how much I disliked this level in UT2K4 ... mainly because there was no skybox and the scale was just horrible ... the few times (like three I think ) that I played this mao I always felt I was playing on a planet full of giants, that how ridiculous the trees seem to me. And the bases were boring ... just plain ... so really I don't see how you can make it any worse. I just hope that you have addressed the scale issues and maybe added a little more eye candy to the bases ... like actually have them in a some sort of structure. It will definitely be interesting to see how your version comes out. At the very least we'll have another level to play on so that and more choice is always good.

sorry scaling is the same as 2k4, I used the heightmap from the original.

To be honest this is one map I am really glad not to have an orb on. It would butcher the spamfest that was this map to begin with. I do really like the idea of swapping out with the scavenger vehicle though :D

Oohh well good luck with this map ... I think I will pass on this not because of you but like I said this was probably one of the ONS levels I played the least. It is just not a very attractive level imo and that is something that is inherent with Primeval so there is nothing you can do about that. I hope others enjoy it though.

I didn't really like primeval though. Too claustrophobic (if that is possible in a forest of giant trees). Which is not to say this isn't a good remake :)

OT: "sequoia" is the shortest word in the english language to use all five vowels.

What is the good of this remake without MANTA TRICKS - one of a main features of the original map. Not sure scavenger can cover that unless its own various stunt sites will be there. In other hand IMHO a viper can play old manta role better.

Exactly. I'm surprised some of never heard of these mammoth trees. :p

Some of these grow REALLY huge. The large trees in Prime shouldn't be dismissed as otherwise. Some are big enough for small trucks to go through.

I personally feel it should have no orb since the map is so tiny. And you can still do the Manta tricks with it. It will be a fun map that a lot will still enjoy. Not everyone likes the big massive maps. :)

Seconded. Give orbs to those who want them, and point to the "No Orbs" mutator that ships with the game for those who don't. :rolleyes:

These ONS maps are fitting into UT3 VERY well....by using the new graphics and vehicles. :D

Just because the Redeemer and Leviathan are there doesn't mean they should be included in every level. Same could be said for the orb spawner. A small map like Primeval was built to work without orbs.

Then again, it's easy to make an extra link setup with(out) orb spawners. Running the mutator wouldn't work unless you want to disable orbs on all maps in the maplist.

How grand, this was my fav ONS map in 2K4 can't wait to try it out :) & glad there is no orb you'll have to use good old fashioned teamwork link gun setup ;)

sorry but I have zero intention of having the orb in this map. I'm making this because some of us want straight ONS in UT3....... if you want all the new bells and whistles you may or may not find them on Dekrayzis version of Primeval:

The mutator disables all orbs on ALL the maps in that map selection. Some maps work great with the orb. Some don't.

Are the textures you used from UT3, cause from the pics they look like the textures from UT2004.

I dont think so, people either want the orb or dont. Not orbs on this map and no orbs on the next. But if the maker ever does find a way to finish the mapmixer mod, this wont be a problem. You'll be able to turn mutators on and off on a map-by-map basis.
