Complete noob needs some help here..

hey guys, just got the UT3 today and im kinda lost..

first of all, how do i set the taunts to cetrain keys? or are there any taunts at all? in the good old ut99 it wasnt too complicated but here i cant find it at all in the settings menu. and can i set any quick concole key? didnt find that either.

and second, how do i get rid of the annoying white arrows that appear when u spawn?

third, what stuff do i need to download to be able to play on most servers? today when i tried it out earlier i was chocked, only 7 populated servers in the CTF :s is that it? couldnt even connect to half of them, just said 'connecting' for an eternity and then finally, connection timed out or something like that. is it cus i need to download something or wasnt my pc welcome?

u need to install this offical ut3 patch.

still no fix for taunts tho :/ maybe in patch 2.

I've been playing the game since demo and day of release. Here are my answers, I hope they give you some idea of the current situation:

1) I don't know
2) I don't know
3) 7 Populated servers is perfectly true, mainly due to design flaws like your question 1 and 2.

As I said, been playing since the demo, and I still don't know how to change them things, that's because they decided to leave them out of the menu system. And I ain't going to into the .ini files every time I want to change something.

Even more-so because of a bug I get when alt+enter to get out of full screen mode like when I want to check whos on TeamSpeak; I minimize and all is fine, I then click on the UT game from the task bar at the bottom which then brings back up the window mode, I then press alt+enter again, but for some reason all my Video settings have been set back to default. Which is just CHAMPION, and I love it so much when it happens!

No, it's very annoying when it happens, therefore I seriously cba in having to keep changing the .ini files.

ok thx, downloading it now.. and this will allow me to connect to all unlocked servers right?

in the key settings menu i just found that i can set keys for taunt 1 and taunt 2, what is those taunts? :p

well that sucks, been looking forward to geting it. so i cant expect there to be more servers in the future then.. only less i guess. buhu :(

Well, it's not the best game in the world right now as you can tell if you read the forums, but it's not the worst either.

If you have a good pc and a good internet connection then you will be able to survive for a while.

I'm still here even with all the flaws; I have a good pc, but a crap Internet connection, well I download at 3.5mb but it's not good enough with the netcode UT3 uses. But knowing my Internet will be inproved (moving to a ISP with less hops) in the next few days, I will be sticking around for a while, as I've been playing since UT99 and use to love this game to death.

But if I don't get a better ping, 40 maximum, I will inevitably have to move on. Which is a big shame.

well i just did a few maps and i kinda like it anyway, even tho all the 'faults' in the game. just need to learn the maps a bit more.. still geting owned but hey, it isnt a game if its all handed to u ;)

was wondering about the server list also, can i refresh the list while im at a server to check out if theres any free slots anywhere else? if so, how?
