Hey Mark, can you cook up this mod so we can get a third-person view in Unreal Tournament III on the PLAYSTATION 3? And please, no "why would you want it third-person?" questions. Some people just prefer it like that. I like that Gears feel.

It would be really great if they made it Gears style 2 person view.

P.S its a mutator so CHANGE THE ICON BEFORE THEY DELETE IT.

A third person mode would be fun alright i think. thought i doubt i'd see myself using it too much i'd still like to give it a shot. who knows, maybe even over the shoulder aswell would be fun.

I like the FPS mode and all, as I'm really good at it. But if anything, I'd prefer the 3rd person because I've gotten so used to it in Gears of War.

I think it would be a tremendous idea to have this mod work on the PS3 version of UTIII.

I know many people that won't play the game just because they don't like FPS, but this might convince them to actually play it! :)

I would love a 3rd person view. Not only is it cool to see your character but most of all I get a headache/dizzy from playing in 1st person after a while. Maybe I'm just getting old but if you guys could include 3rd person for PS3 that would be sweet.

Try to get MarK Rein to cook the pack found in my sig ... it includes the 3rd person mutator plus a whole other really essential ones.

Just go here and check it out and then let Mark know nicely that you would like this pack cooked. All these mutators are great and the devs deserve to have their work shared with you PS3 users.

Yes. We're working on getting all the final little details worked out and hope to have it out very soon. Then you'll be able to cook up all of these mods/maps/etc. yourselves for the PS3.

so youd have to host your own game with that mutator active....

I actually don't think Epic is going to cook any more mutators created by other people ... they will most likely just hurry up and get that paper work signed and then place the responsibility firmly on the shoulders of the mutator creators. This mutator, Action Cam that you all want is kind of buggy so I doubt they would cook it as is it is anyway. The other pure third person mutator (also in my pack :D ) is much better and has no bugs or glitches and you do get the full 3rd person perspective.

Action Cam gives you the perspective you see when you play a demo and get "behind" a character (the over the shoulder view was actually called 2nd person by CliffyB during the early demos of Gears) ... so there is a difference in how the aiming works. Aiming with the 3rd person mutator is much easier than with Action Cam though with some practice I can see aiming with Action Cam becoming second nature (once the glitches get worked out so that you don't lost your reticle or portions of it at times).

I suppose that you could cook it yourself if you have the PC version but it is probably best to let the author cook it themselves so they keep trap of how it is being distributed ... Epic may have some imbedded method for only letting the mod owner cook it to prevent people from just cooking everything they can get their hands on. We will have to wait for more details from Epic on how this process is going to work. There should be some news within the next two weeks ... people are probably on vacation atm.

It's a mechanic really for the best I think, if everyone had different view then the people in 3rd person mode would have the advantage of being able to look around corners. It's all or nothing in something like this.

as a PS3 owner and also a die hard FPS fan, I would LOVE this addon as well.
Simply put, the campaign (single player) isn't uber-hard. but it's a fun way to get acquainted with the maps. (and i had never played warfare before). This would be ideal to use the third person. Would I use it on hardcore deathmatches.... probably not as much.

But I would love to have it as an option. So please Mark, can you cook it up????

There was a faulty release that was on the site between 630 and 730PM PDT today, make sure you're using the newest download and follow the provided instructions.
