Compatibility: UT3 1.1+ (might work with 1.0, but I didn't test it)
Description: A collection of essential user created mutators that greatly enhance re-playability by adding a seemingly endless amount of options to the game play.
Comments: These are mutators that are so good they should have been included in the retail package. Great job to all the creators ... links to all of the original threads have been included in case you just want the individual mutators and not this pack and also so proper credit is given to each developer.

I'm not taking credit for anything but putting them all in one easy to download package to make things more convenient for people instead of having them find each one individually and download them which can be time consuming when we are talking about 14 mutators. This file contains all the original zip files (if the author included a readme it will be in the individual archive) and some of the mutators are still in development but in good enough shape as betas I can wholeheartedly recommend them.

-UT3's Massacre - Killer's Bonus V1.0: mutator that gives out bonuses for first blood, all the different killingSprees and all the Multi kills. Bonuses incude damage, movement, health, and Armor.

- UPickUps: mutator which will enable you to remove the special pickups (Berserk, Invisibility, armor, etc) as well as vehicles ... for example you can now play DM-Heatray without the Darkwalker and/or the Invisibility pickup and likewise you can now play DM-Fearless without the Invulnerability pickup if you want. In the future the mutator will allow you to replace these same special pickups with other special pickups if you want to. An example would be that you will be able to replace the Invisible pickup in Heatray with the Superhealth or with the Berserk pickup if you want to play that way. Basically you have a way to easily modify a level in a small way that can actually change the gameplay in a huge way

Right, download works fine. I am now going to start the game. (took an age to install them).
I have not had much success with UT3 mutators in the past (i.e none of them work) so It won't be your fault if they don't work. Here goes!...

Damn. Why don't they work? I install them how the instructions say, but they don't bloody work :( This happens to me with ALL ut3 mutators.

I don't what to tell you ... the way I have them installed I am not having any issues. I install all the ini files in my config folder and the u and upk files I put in the main program directory in the published folder. Where exactly are you installing the files?

Edit: And btw I will be updating this mutator pack from time to time as versions of each mutator gets updated and as new mutators that I like and feel are really worth sharing are added to the archive. So don't worry about it being outdated any time in the foreseeable future.

I just managed to install them properly! This is probably an issue for me and me only but I had to unzip the config files into my root UT folder for it to work, not the my games folder.
It's probably because my 'My games' folder is located on my c:\ drive and my UT3 folder is on my E:\ drive.
I have to say, this pack is very convenient. *gives hugs*

I didn't think you would mind since I am giving everyone proper credit and keeping your original archive intact. I know you are just messing with me. I am will be looking forward to your next version. And yep I am hoping this gets more to play this great game and allows those that do play it to have max fun. :)

BTW there is a new update v1.02 with the updated TVGMutator 1.1 that allows a player to configure the game so you no longer inflict any self-damage. I love that .. no more accidental flak deaths. :)

A major update should occur this weekend as a couple of mutators are closer to becoming final versions. Hopefully I will discover a few more really good all purpose easy to use Mutators to add to this pack. The more the merrier. anyway as always I will keep you all posted with this thread. Warlock57's mutator is one of those I am hoping will be close to done this weekend but he is constantly adding to it so if I can get the version that lets you start with armor if you want (and you can configure the amount of course) that would be good enough for now. I bet you could all use a bit of extra armor when the match starts ... I know I can.

Congrats to the creator of the VAS Autoshields, one of the ten essential user created mutators featured in this pack. I am glad to see that the PS3 users will finally get one of the better mutators around. I still say that all of the ones in this pack need to be cooked but that is a great start.

Well I am hoping that Mark Rein sees that people on the PS3 want this collection and he decides to cook them asap. Each one is pretty small and actually VASAutoshields has already been cooked. So yeah just kind of nicely bug them and direct them to this thread so they can see for themselves the great mutators that make up this pack. Plus each one has the link to the original thread by the author so people get the credit they deserve. :)

Just what you have been doing ... starting threads about the mutators you would like to see. Also write him Private Messages and just give him the link to this thread. Really that is about all you can do. As long as he is aware of all these mutators I am certain he will cook at least some of them even if he doesn't use the entire pack. The real point is to get you folks as many of these as possible. :)

That is a cool mutator I have to admit ... definitely an essential one and that is what my pack is about. :D

Latest update to the pack is now available to PC users ... PS3 users keep at it with Mark Rein so you can get all these goodies as well. :)

The pack is now at version 1.1 and includes 13 mutators in all. Since the ActionCam author does not have a thread on this forum it is important to give him proper credit on this thread ... i have only seen about 8, and unfortuantly all of them make mulitple threads and post dozens of times in these forums.

there is not ONE person in my clan who wants thrid person, and everyone who wants this seems to have just joined the UT3 community because they loved GOW. This is a first person shooter, this is why i bought the game, and there is no way in hell i want to be in third person. Your small group of GOW fans who have a ps3 do not speak for the community.

on the other hand, i fully support this pack of mods being cooked. There are many great mods that players on the PS3 deserve. My only problem is with people openly lying about me, and the entire ps3 community.

Again, i have no problem with you asking for 3rd person to be cooked, and i fully support this mod/mut pack being cooked,

The truth is though the majority does, and this would REALLY help the sales on the game and also the game's life cycle.
It will also lead the game to people who liked Gears of War, giving UT III an even larger customer base.

To be fair there are quite a few PC gamers that play UT in 3rd person when they are playing offline. Heck I used to play UT exclusively in 3rd person when playing with UT2K3 due to the cool acrobatic moves your character makes ... they took those animations out in UT2K4 so I stopped using it then. But yeah I could see why people would want to use it ... when the grapics are this good you want to see your character.

I have to say this was a great find on your part and definitely a keeper ... I was spending some time with it and though it is a little buggy it is so much fun you will get used to how you have to aim, move, and shoot. It really adds a whole new feel to the way you play the game. So now this is great ... you can play the game in 1st person, 2nd person (over the shoulder), and true 3rd person.

I'm also evaluating putting in the No White Arrows Mutator as soon as I test it because if it works that is really essential and something we all should have. If it works out I am going to wait for one more update on one of the other mutators in my pack that is in development and then post v1.12. But man am I loving this new Action Cam mutator ... now all we need are the Locusts creatures in this game and this would be like Gears of War 2 without Marcus and company.

We are trying to get Epic to somehow take notice of this pack of mutators so they can cook all the great stuff contained within and make this pack available to you folks. Hang in there ... I am certain that Mark Rein has plans to bring more great mutators to the PS3 we just have to make sure these are the ones he picks. :D

When i heard about making 3rd person or OTS for ps3 users in the gaming news i had to post my support :p i've signed up simply to say.... i support this mutator pack for the ps3. Third person would only make the game better, especially for those who are "unsure" about UT3. Updated to Version 1.2 with the NoArrows mutator included. See OP for new link and info. :) One day this pack will be available to all you PS3 users don't worry. Until then just keep asking nicely. PC users you should now have every essential mutator around. From here on out I will be updating them as necessary but no new mutators will be in this pack. All we can do is try folks ... but the good news is that the paperwork that will allow mod makers to cook things themselves and so remove this whole waiting on Epic thing should be all done in the first part of the year and so you will definitely be able to get these mutators pretty soon.

(and i know my old Quake buddies would rip on me for using a console but, whatever. gaming is about fun).
Anyway, Epic/Mark, can we please have the mutator mod as a late christmas gift????

Yeah man thanks for making this great mutator ... as you can see it is a very popular mutator ... probably the most popular one atm in my pack. You are very welcome ... it is always nice to know that this pack was helpful to someone. I do my best to make positive contributions to the community even though I can't give you folks models or levels (and I'm feeling too lazy too do any coding just yet ... rest assured I will be making some mutators down the line). And as I said I will make sure this pack stays updated so you never have to worry that if you download this you don't have the latest version of a mutator in the pack. Also all of the mutators in this pack will have the ability to be installed via BradG's UT3 Tweaker utility:

Right now, actioncam is a pretty good mutator, but im looking forward to the other mutators as well, I kinda want to tweak around with those rather than being in 3rd person to be honest.

well the great thing is that many of the mutators in this pack have been cooked and the ones that didn't work are being worked on by their creators to work on the PS3 in the future. Also once several of the mutators in the pack are upgraded to their next versions ... Action Cam, Newtators, and Customizable UT3 ... I will be upgrading this pack to v1.3 so please do not think I have forgotten about you folks or you modders who have let me include your content in my pack.

This might seem a stupid question, but is there a mutator that shows the name of the opponent under the crosshair, like in previous UTs? I know this feature is available in CustomUT, but what I'm asking is for a mutator that does only this. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me if I download and install a mod/mutator whether it will cause an incompatibility with servers and/or player-hosted games?

I would think that maps or mods would only cause problems if they were on the maplist or in the options of a game you were hosting.

So if I were to host a game using a mod map and a mutator that is not part of the original game, would people attempting to play get turned away, suffer an error, or would their game attempt to download it like in UT2k4?
