Title: DM-TheConveyor
Description: Hopefully I got this version right. Thanks to Fuegerstef and others, I made some fixes which include:

-Conveyor belt works properly now
-Added pipe trim to slime area
-Added a new ramp to the rocket area near conveyor belt so it's not a "floaty" feeling
-Added jump boots to original location from original UT conveyor
-Added shield belt to original location from UT's conveyor
-Added preview shot to map


If you have downloaded this before, please over-write the old file.

Either they play tricks on you or something is wrong on their side... ...I see the screens just fine.

This turned out to be a really nice made ... very well done ... it has nice flow and I like the the way you did the transparent windows they look really cool and that is what I call a cool force field affect ... you may want to share how you achieved that with the mapper that made Orbital2007 because that is what he was trying to achieve and you did it perfectly. The moving convenyor gives the map a nice pro touch. Thanks for adding to the quality user created maps that have been created so far.

So far these are my favorite user created maps that have been released as finals (I'm still waiting on several DM maps and several CTF maps to get out of beta) ... keep 'em coming mappers ... lord knows we need more ... especially some CTF-Lovin and some more nice terrain/jungle/tropical island DM maps. I love this industrial and tech stuff but need more sunshine please. :)

An honorable mention goes to CTF-Grendelkeep3 ... if the misaligned textures get fixed that would definitely be a keeper as well.

Thank you very much Anuban. I appreciate it, it took alot of hard work and dedication to make it great. I settle for nothing less than perfection. It wasn't all that hard to do the force field, it was just a static mesh from the LT_Deimos pack.

And screens should be fixed now, I think.

This is an awesome map. Great layout, very nice look, good lighting, and the bots get around very well. At first I questioned the lack of armor pick-ups, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It puts everyone on a more level playing field from the moment you spawn, and gives the kill/death rate a boost.

If I saw it running on a server, I'd jump right in. Great job!

I was so busy moving all the time I didn't even notice the lack of armor around the map ... that is not a bad thing at all as you point out and also there are mutators that let the players start with armor if that is what is important to players. As long as there is enough health then I am happy (and actually a bit more health around the map would not have hurt. ;) ).

Well there is the shieldbelt behind the lower level RL, and 6 heatlth packs which seems plenty for a map this size.

^^^ Yeah I keep forgetting about the shield belt ... but I still think it would be nice to have the chest plate behind where the stinger is to promote the bots using that upper level and the lifts. More health couldn't hurt ... the map is a decent size and sometimes it is hard to get to the health ... maybe one orb near the RL and one more in one of the upper areas. Anyway the map is still excellent the way it is ... I am just trying to have it exactly my way but instead of working on this anymore I'd much rather you put your energies into a new project. :)

One thing I noticed was getting stuck (bots included) between the acid pool, and the stairs/wall leading up to the control room.

Anyways great remake thanks. : D

Yes I know about that, you just gotta be careful not to get stuck :p
If I moved the pool any closer to the wall, the pipes would interfere with the stairs.

couldn't you just add a simple ramp up to the acid pool,
or a little jump pad that launches you into the acid. :D

Edit: Or make the pool a cylinder rather than a cube. (imo it'd look better that way. : D plus give you a narrow path out. But thats just my opinion.)

Nice to see so many classic maps from the original game. This plays alot like the original but looks so much better. Very impressed. With Liandri already in progress all I need is DM-Gothic to have all three of my fav. UT maps.

i've played this map a lot in lms matches back then.

i would really like to see other classic maps, too. my dreams would come true if all the maps in the current ut tdm and ctf opencups were remade for ut3 :D

especially maps like codex, liandri, nitro, etc... :o

It's funny how when I (personally) think of remakes I think of remaking UT99 maps. 2kx maps don't make me want to see remakes as much. Is it because I don't like them as much, or maybe just because they don't look quite so out of date as UT99 maps (meaning they aren't in as much need of a remake) ?

Who knows, but this map fills one checkbox quite nicely.

Finally, a decent remake of conveyor. I never found one even slightly competent for UT2k4. It's a tad monochromatic here, and I wish the lights on the walls didn't clip through lifts when they move, but the scale is spot on and it plays just right. thank you for making it.

I know why you feel that way though although I don't quite agree- it's because UT3 feels more like UT99 than any other UT game. There are actually a lot of 2kx maps I would love to see. Nearly all of them infact. Of course, there were maps here and there, but most people wouldn't even think of recreating them anyway. I always liked Compressed and wanted to see it act as a CTF map... there are tons of others too though.

Thanks for this quality release. I really get the nice feel of nostalgia.

Don't know if anyone reads UK gaming magazine Edge here, but I got the latest issue yesterday and Anuban and other modders are namechecked in an article about user created content;

"A map which features an oversized toilet has been a feature of every Unreal game so far, and MustaphaMond has brought the famed level to the PS3. A more serious effort is featured above that in the form of DM Conveyor by Bret Hart, cooked to the PS3 by AnubanUT2."

this map would get a 10 out of 10 for me. Only problem is if you get stuck behind the biopool without the jump boots how do you get out of the gap ? i know its finished but you need to either move the biopool back against the wall or put a gangway between the window and the edge of the pool

I also commented about this problem. It could be solved by stretching the acid bath to the wall or making the two stairs less wide so you can walk underneath and around them to get out. I try to avoid the spot but I got stuck a couple of times already...
