I see a lot of people in here that I have never seen on the servers. However, when I join UT3 most servers are empty :S..where are you guys playing?

This is a call to all of the unreal players who bought this game and love it. If you like this game and want to get involved in the community join the UT3 network at irc.gameradius.com #ut3tdm and #ut3ctf. both channels are active with about 300 players; we have pick up games every day (most peep meet in teh channel and from there we join servers to play tdm, and ctf, or 1v1). There are also a lot of clans looking for players, and lot of players looking for clans. Clan matches and scrims are also played. In addition, we have tournaments and events.

We're always looking for more players to be active and play in the pick up games, tournies, scrims, clan matches and what not. So whether you are just looking to get better, make new friends, join a clan, get serious with the competition, or simply wanna chat with ramdom peep come and join us, and be a part of the community. for more info on how to join the UT# irc network visit the forums www.unrealna.com and www.prounreal.com. My problem is my hardware... plain and simple, I can't get a high enough FPS on UT3 for it to be enjoyable.

I'd be a bit more motivated to spend the $$$ to upgrade if the game was more complete. I imagine within 1 or 2 more patches, it will be up to the standards that UT fans expect.
I'll get there eventually... and I'm sure that there are others in the same boat as me.

I never had problems finding populated server since demo came out.

PC community is starting small this time. Everybody I know is either waiting for a better pc or simply for a copy. More will come at Christmas. But still there are enough out there already to play against. I never have trouble finding opponents.

You might need a faster processor. I was experimenting with UT3, and forgotten that I had underclocked my processor from 2.8ghz down to 2.0. It was jumpy, and I got a headache from playing. Soon as I turned the processor speed back up, I was fine.

Even though most servers are empty I never have trouble getting a good game. I have just come of from a great 2 hours session just now. Its bloody great fun.

I know for a fact their are people out there not playing this game that would absolutely love it. I have to say I was skeptical at first but after 3-4 hours it gets very addictive, i have not touched CoD4 in a week.

I play TDM mostly.. and I do see some servers with a few people but the settings are terrible isle like 16 vs 16 with a frag limit of 40 game ends before I load UT, basically. we do have a few tdm, and ctf servers with proper settings up. and alot of time they are empty... Eventhough, I pub from time to time. I mostly play pugs and scrims with the competitive community.. no bs set ups. ya'll should join

Thats because the default framerate is capped at 62. I had the same till I moved the max framerate from 62 to 85.

open UTengine.INI
ctrl + f for 'smoothed'
Here you find this:

Change MaxSmoothedFrameRate to 85 save the file and you're done.
If you still get a sore head it might just be your hardware being not good enough for a good framerate.

I'd like to play but I can't, the game crashes randomly after a few minutes of play. I think it's my x1600s, or the fact that they are in crossfore, but if I turned it off the frame rate would drop too low, I only have an opty 175 and 2gb of ddr. I hope it'll get better when I'll get a 3870...

Try these ini tweaks (http://forums.epicgames.com/showpost.php?p=25018185&postcount=1). It'll make your graphics look like a crisper version of what was in UT2K4 instead of the bloom heavy effects that UT3 will enable by default.

Sorry, I'm a forum whore. I play on PS3 once in awhile, but haven't played since last night.

I'm currently on the PS3 as upL8N8, but I think I may switch over to sinep.gib (my normal FPS name)
