Compatibility: Any version of UT3

Description: This is a map intended for 1on1 play. I tried to recreate the modern italianish restaurant style. Brick and foliage with cool, colorful lighting.


If anyone has any suggestions on a real name based somewhat on the theme, then that'd be great.

*I plan on making it so the light-beam effects are invisible if people have world detail to 1.

*I have no plans on adding Depth of Field

*Sniper Banana Gameplay Decoration Added. Provides some cover for the sniper nest.

*You can still easily leave the boundries of the level.

*Visuals are about 75% done. Needs trim in some areas. Some areas are horribly Decorated. Some textures are mis-aligned.

*The Gameplay is damn near solid. flx|51 & gs|51 were my main testers. The map plays as fast paced as sentinel, so expect high scores.

*I have yet to add any blocking volumes, so if you get caught on stuff, it won't happen in future versions.

The floor textures just don't work for me, they seem wrong for this level. It clashes with the red brick pretty strongly imo and I am not sure that ceiling works with the red brick supports.

I think it looks fine...but then again im not an interior designer:rolleyes:

Neither am I dude ... the level designer asked for opinions and I just gave him MINE ... of course he does not have to listen to me if he doesn't want to and I expect that many people may not agree with my POV which again is fine with me. How about giving him some real feedback for his map instead of the lazy "I think it looks fine" line that so many people use, which does not help a level designer to improve his level in the least.

Interesting, but too many simple brick textures and sharp 90 degree corners kill the next-gen appeal.

This is good map but it looks like its ported from UT2k4...

*I don't plan on over-decorating the map with too much eye candy since its a competitive map. I want people to have solid frames. The only thing that might be taxing on peoples computers are the flickering dynamic lights, and the particle emitters.
If thats the case then I'll remove the particle emitters.

*Plan on adding more blocking volumes.

*Plan on probably getting rid of some of those smoke emitters. They probably lag most people horribly.

Well I have to say I really really like the new look and the new colors work extremely well together from what I can tell from the pics. I will try this out now and get back to you with my initial thoughts. It really does look a ton better than when I first saw it. You really made some nice improvements. It doesn't look like you need to anymore eyecandy to it ... there is just the right balance imo. Now if it plays as good as it looks you have a winner on your hands (with just a bit more work).

You definitely have a winner on your hands ... the layout is really good and it allows for a great fast paced match with lots of action on all axis's as well as close quarter and hitscan fighting. I would like to see more armor personally and maybe the super health since it seems like you die a lot. I think the bots are good but they could be tweaked a bit ... they are definitely good at stealing the shield belt because I never found it but I am sure it must exist. Maybe add the helmet since you have the sniper rifle on this map. I would like to see the map's brightness toned down just a bit and have the area look a bit more worn ... however if you decide to keep the clean well lit look it will still see a good amount of action on servers I am certain. I just think it would add more to the visual and atmosphere of the map.

Anyway it is coming along fine and there is definitely no need to add any more stuff as it would just clutter the level up ... like you said just fix up what you already have and maybe add a bit more next gen effects if you find some good applications (maybe the city can look even further away in spots?) ... it is a perfect balance of gameplay and looks. It reminds me a lot of Slainchild's and Steve Keene's layouts which are always fun and have good flow so definitely a good job with that.

Good point .... this is definitely NOT a 1on1 map so definitely the name should be changed.

you can get armor by using one of the jumppads (i gues it must be somwhere between the shock rifle and bio) . also theres one thing i noticed, if you jumped for the armor too far, you'll get stuck between whe wall and some construction like barrel or engine...

and yeah, if the brightness will be lowered, map will look more "mature" and maybee change lightning colours, the map is too "yellowish" now ;)

gameplay is really uber there, i've played before i felt some pain in my hands)
