Is there anything documented that explains the confusing directory structure of UT3?
For example....
Why is there an Unpublished and Published folder?
I have created a directory to place my maps in called "User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomMaps.
I created this directory as one didn't exist upon installation. It appears that I can name it "Maps" and it works just as well.
Odd that UT3 created a "CustomMaps" directory in the "Unpublished" folder that I don't use at all at this point but UT3 installed it. Again odd.
Some mutators are installed in their own directory while others share common folders. Can I create custom directories for mutators even if they unzip into common folders?
To add to the confusion, many of the mutators/maps I download come with inaccurate information on where to unzip the files.
It sure would be nice if there was some information available that explains the correct directory structure and everyone would use it/refer to it in readme's and use that directory structure when zipping files.
We really need a UT2004Mi for UT3!!!
:confused::confused::confused:

It would be nice to have something official as to where to place custom content, I've gone through all the mutators in beta and final, all maps in beta and final, and no one seems to be totally in agreement as to where to place things.

So far, this is what I'm using, and it seems to be working , but again, it would be nice to have something official from epic.

mutator .u files go User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\Script
mutator .upk files go User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\CookedPC
mutator .ini files go User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

weapons .u files go User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\Script
weapons .upk files go User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\CookedPC\Weapons
weapons .ini files go User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

all map files go (map .ini, .ut3, .upk)
User\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomMaps

what about other folks, what are you using?
