View Full Version : In-Game Cinematics Malfunction

Alright, here's the issue:

I've installed and updated the game to 1.1, and the options like Instant Action, and the Multiplayer stuff seems to work fine, so far. My problem comes when I attempt to start a Single Player Campaign. The cinematics will start, and at what seems to be random times, lockup, and freeze the game solid, resulting in my having to C-A-D the game and end it.

Now, I've installed the latest Dx10, and checked for updates for all my video and audio stuff (nothing newer than what I have apparently), downloaded all sorts of codecs and stuff, played with my settings in all sorts of ways, and even used a selective startup to remove all the background stuff to make sure nothing from there is interfering with it. Nothing seems to work.

So now I am here. I use an Alienware Aurora m-7900, 2.41G Dual Core, 2g RAM, vid cards are GeForce Go 7900 GS. Anyone else encounter this problem? If so, how did you resolve it? Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When you say "played with my settings in all sorts of ways" I assume it includes the PumpWindowMessagesWhenRenderThreadStalled setting ?

(from Ultron's sticky)

Yeah, going to the utengine.ini file in My documents/my games/Unrealt Tournament 3/utgame and setting PumpWindowMessagesWhenRenderThreadStalled to true fixes the cinematic lockups. Thanks ultron :D

Nah, I meant with general Video settings, in and out of game. But yeah, somehow I missed that part of Ultron's sticky. That was just what I needed. Thanks for pointing it out for me, apparently I'm blind as a bat. Good stuff Ultron.
