To get started, just load the mutator and press the menu key, f5 by default.

Not bad I suppose..for people who like to choose their colors, but personally, I would not want to see a ton of rainbow colored units around the battlefield. It makes the game look somewhat childish.

We have a beta of this on our clan server, and it owns!
Will have to get our server admin to upload this version instead.
I can't see many public servers using it, but for clan games it's going to be essential.

That's really cool, you have done a great job. I don't think it would make the game look childish, because the skins are pretty awesome already and even when Reaper is wearing a pink suit he still looks cool :D.

I always like the hitsound, it stimulates me to kill :) And with the darkskins of UT the clothes looks great with this mutator :) All the other stuff is nice as well.

So again: USE THIS ON YOUR SERVER , DO IT FOR UT, DO IT FOR MANKIND!

BTW I was using this on instant action and it took me around 10 minutes literally to get into a map, this was 3rd use. Not very good for slower computers =/ maybe on faster too i dont know. That was for the old version.

Suggestions

-HUD Same color as the skins
-need better xhair selection.
-drop down menu/combo box for forcing models
-To turn off brightskins should be client side too, on the Skins Tab.
-When voting a map on instant action it should keep other mutators
-Crosshair factory works perfect, very customizable

Bugs

-When I voted off Brightskins it made everyone turn blue
-Turning off force models didn't work

well the first time it loads it takes a little while, but after the first load it really picks up and there is no load anymore really.

That mutator looks nice. Haven't tried it yet, been busy working on a similar mutator. My mutator though allows the changing of stats in the game such as weapon damages and player health.

When i ran it my PC began stuttering/lagging horribly and weird things were happening like glowing bots and vehicles and other graphic abnormalities. Any idea what i could do about this or what causes it? i really want to use it if possible.

Is there a way to remove the "glowy" effect and just enable the color changes? When you get up close to the characters they lose the glow and look better imo. I guess I would just prefer the ability to change the colors of teams without seeing neon characters everywhere.

The only difference is the ability to determine what color you want to shoot at. Some people have trouble seeing red / blue due to color blindness, so by allowing everyone to choose their own favorite color to shoot at gives a fair playing field for everyone.

this is NOT ut2k4 glowsticks. The new color's act exactly as epic's default red / blue skins. Lotus kept the way the characters' hue saturates and desaturates as epic intended.

I have updated to v1a on the [UnrealNA.com] TranzTrix server for those who want to try it with CTF. There are some custom maps in the rotation but redirect should be pretty quick. I agree about the skins appearing too bright, green and yellow skins may need to be darkened some just so they don't stick out as much comparatively.

I can completely understand and respect the reasoning behind the way the mod is set up but as a player who almost never plays online unless it's with a friend and who prefers the option to change team/player colors rather than being stuck with either red or blue I would very much like the ability to customize the rate/distance at which the "hue saturates". If I set up a game against bots and maybe a friend or two that is green vs. purple, I and my friends, would like to not have a bunch of "glowing" characters running around when it would be just as plausible and better looking to just have the characters have green/purple colored armor/clothing.

I cannot see the harm in being able to lower or remove the "hue/glow" of the players, if anything it would be making it harder for the person playing without the effect and would have no affect on the those who have it enabled. Furthermore something like this could be put to a vote just as the custom skins are now. This would allow the online players to decide if or if not it would be "fair" to have the effect enabled while those like myself who play offline can enjoy a "hue/glow" free experience. The ability to customize every aspect of the game is something that should be embraced. That's my two cents anyways.

I would like a drop down menu for selecting the default model.
10 people in our clan game ysdy didn't have a clue what a single model was called, so I couldn't change it and was stuck with one. Turning off force model didn't work (maybe had to rejoin for that?).
You can't even go into player setup to see the names while in game.

Other than that it's excellent, and has improve my aim noticably as I use pink/cyan in place of red/blue :D

I tried to use it in Instant Action DeathMatch but there are things that doesn't work. I don't know how to change the character for instance or even turn off the force option, since it won't do anything altering the check box. When I return to the settings dialog some things return to their previous values, some don't.

It would be nice if everyone could chose their own color in DeathMatch games. Someone should make a mutator for that alone.

Hitsounds are fun and very informative thou. Warm up is great for trying out repetitive shooting with Grenades and Flak secondary and such.

In fact, the mutator could be separated into several ones, like Warm up, Hit sounds, Team colors, Voting, Cross hairs, etc.

Lotus, is there a way you could code Duel to not reload the same map when it ends? It's getting tiring reloading the same map after a 5 or 10 minute game when a smarter alternative could be just swapping out the players but keeping the same map up.

i installed the new version 2day, well done on the fixes. but is there anyway to include these.

1. include helmets & stuff, i like to use harlin from the demo. lol when i saw him in game 2day i thought who the feck is this bald guy ;)

2. i liked the 2k4 force model where u could force males as say gorge & females as Rylisa. i maybe wrong but all i seam to be able to do is team based.

good job so far tho.

Is it possible to override the warmup? I'm running it in a 10 man VCTF server and I love it...except for when a player won't ready up. My server ends up clearing out because no one wants to spend eternity in "warmup". Admin override, or possibly an option to not warmup at all in future versions?

Unfortunately that only works if an admin is present. An option to disable it completely would be better IMO.

Hello , is it possible to have a lite version of this mod in a futur update without the custom skin option? . it ' s a great mut for the all the features inside except custom color skins , but it ' s just my opinion .

Agree with darkyautja would like this mod pack without the glowing characters or at least have an option to reset player colours to normal. I love the extra statistical info, but gave up on this mod when the glowing characters started to get on my nerves

Blitz - For server install, put the files in: \UT3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\

\Script - here put CustomUTv1a.u
\Textures - here put customutmenusv1a.upk, CustomUTContentv1a.upk

For the UTcustomutv1a.ini file; put in \UT3\UTGame\Config\

Add the mutator string to the startup command line as noted above. If the Script and Textures folders are not in \UT3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\
then create them manually.

I would like to use this on my sniper-arena server as it is a very useful mutator. Unfortunately, however, it seems to be incompatible with sniper arena. I have tried both the sniper arena mutator and replacing all weapons with sniper rifles through the replacement mutator. In both cases, I spawn with the sniper rifle but, also, all other weapons when this mutator is added.

I have installed this mutator, everything is in the correct folder and all, but when I go online it downloads the mutator from the server again.

Is this normal in UT3 ? Or is it because I use -nohomedir?

Hi, Like some things about your mod but it`s seams to drop my Gfx Setting down, and even when I pick disable Skin I still get lots of strange bright Bots running around.
I guess I want a cut down version of this with just weapon stats, and map / Gametype Vote and maybe warmup. Atm it changes too much for me and takes away some things I like.
I am sure it`s great for the pro-gamers out there but cant get it working just right for me atm. I like my Gfx on Max.
Any chance you just cutting out the part where its shows your stats and making a mimi-mod lol.

I certainly hope so. As I stated in a earlier post, I can't use this mod with sniper arena (whethe with the SA mut or Weapons Replacement mut) and I am having to run two servers - one for CTF and one for DM. Unless Epic comes out with a decent mapvote that allows gametype vote, I will continue doing double server work and paying double money just to run a couple of different gametypes. Sorta bad. :( :(

Restart the Server.

At this time I dont know how to prevent Stock-Maps from voting.

I'm running server with unrealfrontend.exe and this is my command line:

1) Why client that they are connected to my server cannot begin one voting but they can only choose yes or not?
2) Only the server can begin the voting?
3) If i'm the dedicated server how I make to begin it?

CustomUT has its own Scoreboard.
You cant use CustomUT and AdvancedScoreboard or (for example) BiaVote together.
The Mutators cant share system-resources, in other words: they are not compatible.

I couldn't agree more with this. I had to take CustomUT off my server even though I didn't want to for the exact reason above. I can see warmup for clan servers, tournies, or the flat out hardcore, but warmup definitely makes for a lot of hassle on public servers with the above reason being one of them.

If anyone has a way to totally disable warmup while having warmup vote disabled in CustomUT, I'd definitely like to know so that I could re-install the mutator on my server.

Thanks, I originally did have it set bWarmupRound=False so it looks like after the first person to vote for warmup in CustomUT it changed it back to bWarmupRound=True. I can only assume that's what happened? Well I switched it back and disabled warmup voting in the CustomUT ini and all is back to working the way I wanted it with CustomUT, heh. Weird how voting no warmup and then disabling warmup voting and restarting the server it just wouldn't stick and I had to actually go into and switch the setting within UTGame.ini which I originally had set correctly. Whatever - all is well now back running with CustomUT.

I have UTComp (formerly CustomUT) installed on my server and I have a question with regards to voting. During the game you can use F5 to bring up the settings and vote, but after a match ends it seems to go back to the standard UT3 map voting, and F5 doesn't bring anything up here. Am I missing something?

You have done a great job, but I was wondering if you can make it so that you can adjust the x and y offset even more in the crosshairs menu. The reason for this is so people who play 3rd person and set the crosshair down further. In 3rd person you always shoot below the crosshair and even with y offset I can not get it down low enough.

I had the same problem, no matter the settings the force model will not turn off. I ended up going back to customUT. I am eagerly awaiting the final release :)

UT3 was not fully baked IMO when it shipped and it appears by what I am seeing that fact might be effecting other utilities. Yes, no, maybe so? I will give it one more try once my server has been running for a week without problems...

If you are referring to an error with "A_Weapon_Biorifle" it's a known issue with older maps that need to be recooked with patch 1.1 and up. Almost all errors I see in my server are map related and I've had to weed out the problem ones to keep the server running smooth.

As for redirection cutting out..hmm I've never heard of that one, are you using a public redirection service or private?

I've been wondering the same thing. Biavote is buggy, UTcomp3 has the forcemodel bug, and customUT's mapvote doesn't seem to be compatible with maps cooked since patch1.2. Someone is supposedly developing UTcomp3 but I haven't heard anything new from him in a while. I would be very appreciative if it gets fixed soon because right now my server doesn't have midgame mapvote because I would rather not deal with the bugs.

Yes, [BIA]Vote - 0.5.3. It seems to kick off on some people, myself included, at the end of the map so they can't vote. Yes, [BIA]Vote - 0.5.3. It seems to kick off on some people, myself included, at the end of the map so they can't vote. I had that same issue and fixed it by setting "bAllowMapVoting=False" in every config file I had on the server except BiaVote. It seems that if another voting mutator is enabled it become unstable, especially if you have voting turned on in CustomUT.

I will give that a try, thanks :). I also had the problem where I didn't appear as my character (Matrix) when using BiaVote, any idea why that is?

That I can't help you with I have the same issue, I didn't know if that was BiaVote or the custom gametypes I run.

"A_Weapon_Biorifle" error is map related and not CustomUT related. You are hosting maps that either have the wrong bio rifle ammo selected or just need to be recooked as they were cooked with an early patch. I had top remove a few older custom maps to cure that issue.

Has been found to happen to ALL maps that DO NOT HAVE the Bio Rifle in the map!

It has nothing to do with what patch it was Published/Cooked under.

I have had 2 of my Arena maps that had this problem and the only way it was resolved was to add the Bio Rifle to those maps.

Oh, BTW....CustomUT ROCKS! :cool:

thanks for the tip! I had been using CustomUT, then UTCOMP3v1, however each of those had issues either with new maps, forcing models, etc.. I only like it for the map/game type voting as well as the hitsounds.

So I installed biavote, but had issues until i did as you noted above in the utgame.ini. Works great now! I installed a seperate mutator for hitsounds.

I also have the default player bug it seems. Will see if i can figure out what causes it. Don't have the blank gametype and maps error though. But i can't see custom gametypes like Ut2d if that's whats meant by it.

That's not the problem most of us are having, since the original customUT it hasn't been able to handle some of the newer maps. Consequently you either have to do without some of you favorite maps or have to sacrifice the mapvote.

Can you list some examples of which maps doesn't work, i tried some without the biorifle but i havent been able to reproduce the problem.

I got confused by cutomut and utcomp

I've found a ton of bugs, anomolies and have some suggestions for the GUI.

For example

GUI:
instead of having an enemy/teambased selection box placed where it is now confusing new players with its functionality.

Use a dropdown box and place it above the the color selection screen with a title like "display as" with options blue/red team/enemy.

Add more specific and less ambigious options in the skin tab.Exspecially for deathmatch. Try choosing a model for yourself and force another for the enemy. Or try disabling skin colors in deathmatch.

Anomolies:
While in game after a few map changes when i click gamerules utcomp shows up 3 times. The more i play the more it shows up. Don't know if this causes problems or something.

I found a slider in skins that i couldnt figure out what is was for didnt seem to do anything, was until later that the model preview showed up which is couldnt find earlier which is a pretty nice feature. Just don't get it why it didn't show up earlier and why its suddenly working now (utcomp2c).

Bugs:
Apart from default characters when turning off forcing players. An yourself a default character.

When i change to a CTF match from a deathmatch map the score required to win is 20 points...instead of the default 3
Think this one is configurable but no idea how is there any guide in setting a server for utcomp?

I would also love to see these option in the clientside:

Disable brightskins (for those who wants it)

A new tab called Player where you can change your own model and name and skin colour with a no skin color option enabled. This is mostly for deathmatch (You could add a "always use player model) in the skins tab. It's for when you want to be...different when forcing models)

I first did the one from your link, and had the same problem. So, then I tried downloading the old one from the first page. Both have the same issue with the maps. It works offline just fine. I can't think what is possibly wrong?

I think in the next version you should be able to select individual powerups, deathwalkder (for duels/TDM), and redeemer that you want to disable. There should be a separate page so people can see what is disabled when they join a server. The only thing I want disabled is invulnerability and the deathwalker. I don't want to disable everything else. Give people the option.

Also, need to fix demo man showing up if you disable force respawn.

Another cool option would be to include another option to enable mutators with a click of a button. Some people may suddenly have an urge to play instagib for an example.

Everything else seems cool.

This mutator isn't exactly what I expected. I have version 1.2 and when I try to use a custom model it doesn't use the model chosen. Also I tried to use other mutators with it like weapon replacement and Action Cam 1.0 (I think) and they too do not work. It's apparent that this mutator does not work with other mutators or doesn't detect these.
