Comments: Finally after few months of messing with this map, beta is here. first i want say, i really suck at weapon layout since i dont play much weapons only instagib, so any input/ suggestions are welcomed! plus what ever other comments y'all have "GOOD or BAD"! bots play pretty well, except for few hang ups here and there.PS3 User please dont cook this map yet since it's only a beta. once final y'all can have at it....thank you and Enjoy!

It looks nice, but I'm tired of seeing Necris-themed maps.It's like epic had hardly any levels, characters, maps, and textures in this game.

yeah been real busy, i had to much RL work to do this week. but i promise beta is coming soon. im only working 3 day this week, then im off the after the new year!:D which means alot of mapping;)

I love the look of this map. I hope it works on PS3 when it's done. I have a couple suggestions for names if you havn't come up with a final one yet. "Structures" "Sultan's Altar" "Sultun's Square" or "Persia" the first thing that came to mind was "Constantanopel" (spelling) you know? The former name of Istanbul? If you like any of them use it. I'd like to just know I named this awesome map.
Oh btw, Wolverine, do you take your name from the comic book character. If so, I like you even more. I'm a huge Wolverine fan.

i've actually named it Acropolis, but thx for all the suggestions. and yes i grew up watching x-men. only online name i've ever gone by.

Acropolis works good. You said it's arabic, not greek right? but the name still fits. The design of this map is so impressive. Something like Megaliths would have worked as well. Some name that fits the incredible strucyures on the map. Acropolis fits that bill.
I'm a huge Wolverine fan as well. I grew up on X-Men comics and Wolverine comics, then loved the cartoon as well, when I was older. I have every issue of Wolverine. Did you get to read Origin? On PS2 my screen name was always Weapon-X1974. Not by B-day year, the year Wolverine first appeared in Hulk. Anyway sorry to get so off topic. Mabey you should do an X-Men themed map, Particularly an Apocalypse, themes Egyptian Map. You seem to have the exact style it would take to pull that off. An inside/outside dual Pyramid map with hightechnology inside the pyramids. With huge Statues of En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse all over the place, like huge heads. With the way Acropolis is coming along, you are the one person I would request that of. As a Wolverine homage as well, you could have a carving somewhere of the design of Wolverine when he was Apocalypse's Horseman "Death". Just thinking out loud, sorry for the way off topic post.

sorry man, been real busy with real life crap. i had some time to work on it last few days. hopefully in a week or so.

like a champ...i dont dip below 40fps with 14 bots max setting 1680x1050 res.
anyhow.... here are some screenie updates also, i've also decided to go with "CTF-Edreneh" instead of "Acropolis". promise thats the last name...lol

NICE! Those new screens look like 10's. I honestly don't agree with the new name change. I thought Acropolis was perfect, but hey, what's in a name? Right? Hopefully this ends up working on PS3. Visually it's pretty stunning.
Edit: How big is this map? It's very hard to tell from the screens.

Any download yet? The (i)CTF community is dieing to test new (instagib)CTF maps. I hope this map plays as nice as those screenshots look. As long as it's open enough, it will be a good iCTF/CTF map ! With new cups coming at gaming leagues like clanbase.com ,etc we would be more than pleased to try this map.

The map looks amazing and has plenty of atmosphere ... it is smaller than I thought it would be from the pics but it is still lots of fun and the layout makes it a very intense CTF map filled with nonstop action since it is so wide open. I need to spend more time playing it but I would say even if no more work were done that if you like maps that are visually exciting and extremely atmospheric and are loaded with action you will like definitely want to download this level. The routes are very accessible and this is a map that is made for everyone to just jump right in and start playing. It is not a tricky map with a complex route that is easy to get confused and lose your orientation. In that respect this map hits a perfect stride. :)

I have had more time to play test it and a couple of things are really turning me off:
- Does the nano-black substance have to do damage .. the level is already plenty challenging ... having to worry about staying out the goo on a level where there is no real place to catch a breather is pretty hard.
- The weapons layout bothers me ... I can't put my finger on it exactly but the way things are laid out I am just having a hard time getting ammo and getting to the weapons I want. I probably just need more time with the level ... but the RL and the Flak seem pretty far away from the flag .. I guess I am not used to that. I dunno ... something seems odd to me.
- The map is completely hitscan dominant. Because it is a straight plane basically the bots were hitting me clear across the level ... from their flag basically and I can't even see that far from my base because of the distance ... it gets kind of annoying after awhile getting plucked from deep and not having any where to go. I know you can't do much about this but if you add something that can be used for cover that would be great.
- Bots are getting stuck near the walls that are right before you get on the raised side walkways and when you get off (so just as you are walking off of the walkway or about to get on to it you will see the bot right next to it just standing by that wall that starts the side pathway to the flag.
- UDamage and Invisibility pickups ... couldn't find invis and almost didn't find the UDamage ... seems to be in kind of bad spot imo ... again could be a matter of getting used to this level but for a level that looks so straightforward I would prefer that the pickups are also pretty straightforward as well.
I don't know if you will be able to do much about my concerns but anything you can do at all would be greatly appreciated. I love how the level looks and with a few tweaks I think the gameplay can match the visuals. In many ways this reminds me of a CTF-Thorns map I have ... was that kind of the inspiration in part anyway?

like i said in my first post, i really do suck at weapon placement. how about you take a top view screenshot, and change weapon layout to where you think it would work better, lets see those PS drawing skillz ;)

yes i did see that, and it's already fixed. anything else in the bot department?

never thought about thorn when making this map. problem is i've been in the Low Gravity InstaGib community for 8+ years now, and these are the types of maps we play. hopefully in near future i can make few DM maps , so i can get a better feeling for regular grav/weapons size maps.

I'm not saying I am great at placement but if someone has a good one I can "see" it ... I would say clear the side walkways of weapons and place pickups (leave the health vials) there and move the RL and Flak cannon weapons back closer to the each individual base. I have ZERO PS skills so drawings from me but I know there are others who can help out in this area better than me. :)
