Anyone seen this bug?

I haven't seen anyone else mention it, and it's a bad one. Makes playing CTF or VCTF (i play SP only) such a PITA i usually just quit out of frustration.

I go to grab the flag and i'm heading towards my base when i realize i no longer have the flag. It just goes back to thier base w/o me being killed or anything. one second i've got it, next it's gone. First time i noticed it i was heading back to base with the flag, or so i thought, when i hear the announcer saying one of my team mates took the blue flag. sure enough i look up and no icon and no flag on my back. this can happen both after i grabbed it from thier base or from one of my fallen team mates. This is about as annoying a bug as i ever encountered, and if it doesn't get fixed i may as well trash the disc because the only gametypes in UT3 i like at all are the flag games. And they're worthless when this keeps happening.

You know, I was playing some of the campaign and could have swore I snatched the flag only to hear the announcer say such and such has the flag. I just thought maybe I had missed it and hadnt paid attention as I made my run. Hmm....

Same here. at first i thought i had just missed the flag. But then it kept happening so i would check to see if i had it sometimes and eventually it happened when i had checked after i grabbed it. So i knew then it was a bug. Now it sometimes happens several times in a row. I plan to D/L the new official patch tomorrow and i just hope that even tho this bug isn't mentioned something else that was fixed will be related and fix this issue too.

I think it's happened to me a few times. I too thought I missed the flag, but on the other hand, I don't usually take off without being sure I've got it in hand.

you sure you didn't drop it?
There's now actually quite a few actions which will result in you dropping the flag, I too thought it was a bug until I realised.
However you might be right, does it happen often? If so, try identify when the flag actually dissapears from you.

I have had this with the orb in WAR many times. I'm definitely holding the orb, I get into a fight with someone and all of a sudden the orb is on the floor. I don't know if maybe the Impact Hammer secondary can knock flags/orbs off you.

It's happened w/o any incident at all. I'll grab it and take off and there are times i haven't even seen anyone and all of a sudden no flag. I can see nothing i could have done to drop it because all i'm doing is running with the flag. The only time you drop it in this game w/o dying is if you are hit on the hoverboard or fall from a high place.Besides, i never hear the announcer say anything till a team mate grabs the flag from their base, and it usually takes some time before the flag goes back to base if no one returns it. and i don't hear the announcer saying anyone returned it. No announcements, no text messages, just an announcement that a team mate has taken the blue flag.

Do you translocate at anytime?

^^If it's in campaign, then it can't be lag related.

It's in instant action, and i don't use the translocator. In fact, theres another question.......how can i eradicate that da*m thing for good !? 2004 had a checkbox but in UT3 i can't seem to get rid of it. In fact, i could write a book on the things you could do in 2004 but not in UT3. I can't even drop weapons. God i hope they make big changes in the patches !

I know I had the Orb on one match last night and got half way to the node only to see that the Orb was dropped near the base. Not only that but got under a vehicle some how.

I had this happen once. I got all the way back to my base and I dodge across the home flag. I thought I missed it, so I went and stood on the base. No capture. Only then did I see that somehow the flag was back at the enemies' base.
