This is a BSP layout textured so that it can be played. I made it tested it and put it out so that competitive 1on1 players will have a good 1on1 map to play, since the Epic maps are lacking for 1on1. It doesnt look fancy because well when you are playing in a tournament or ladder you don't really care about what the maps looks like just how well it plays. I will be working on putting static meshes and proper lighting in later on.

Enjoy.

Uh go back to beta forum and finish your map, this forum is for final mean FINISHED maps. And yet you post here and admit you need to do some more work.

no this is the final release for competition version, nobody who plays at a competitive level cares what the map looks like how the lighting is as long as its playable and has good gameplay. So please understand what is going on before you say stuff thanks.

I dunno who exactly it is that you play with. I'm extremely new at mapping, but Statics and Lighting makes a huge difference. It's a lot prettier to look at and increases the quality of your map. Sure you have a layout, and it is fun. But if it looked pretty too, it'd be even better. I don't like playing maps without normal lighting, even mine have Statics and Lighting and i've only made two maps. Honestly, this should not be released without it.

lol, even the competitve community would care about some lighting. Look at the second screenshot for example.. without lighting it's difficult to see where a wall ends and a different one begins. I'd really take this to the beta and then add some basic lighting/decoration for the competitive community and then some more for the casual community maybe (though it would be better if both versions could be combined in one map).

For me this means the map isn't final jet. So please finish it first before posting it here in the forums..

As for gameplay the map is nice but I would suggest to add some decorations and textures because when you play duel and respawn you have to recognise where you are in milliseconds by somekind of signs(like unique map texture or whatever) And atm everything looks the same,as mentioned above it is even diffucult to see where the wall ends.

Even in terms of gameplay this map stays well within the realms of basic. Theres no rhyme, reason or flow to this map. I doubt much consideration went into the layout (besides trying to make it kinda do what roughinery does.) and whats with the lifts. Go back and look at what makes roughinery work, you haven't captured it here. Meshes & lights or not.

I'm never one to complain about a map with simplified graphics, but at least give it some basic lighting so the doorways are actually visible. Being unable to find your way out of a room isn't good for gameplay.

I'd have to agree ... you did say yourself that this map needs some more work. Maybe you should call this one Devastation-CE for competitive Edition and that would let people know you are still working on completing the one for the general UT3 community. I can't download this one if the lighting hasn't changed at all. I do look forward to seeing the completed version and do hope you add some static meshes as I and others have suggested. Thanks.
