The first completely operational RPG for UT3 is finished!
MANUAL: With BattleRPG each player gets a persistent level and persistent experience. This means the server keeps a database and remembers your achievements permanently. For each point you score you get experience, if you have enough experience you go to the next level:
* The first 10 levels are very easy to get players to learn how RPG works
* Reaching level 80 requires some serious playing but is doable
* Level 100 is tougher to reach
* Over level 100 it becomes extremely hard
Besides experience and levels you also collect Mana. Mana is not persistent, if you leave the server you lose your Mana. If you collect 100 Mana points you get 999 health, you get all weapons and your Mana is reset to 0.
What powers do you get for your levels:
* For each level you get 1 bonus health
* For each level you get 0.5% faster weapons
* For each level you get 0.5% faster walking (quickfoot) and swimming
* For each level you can jump 0.5% higher
* For level 20 and higher you regain health at 1 health per 20 levels per second
* For level 25 and higher you get the ability to dodge jump
* For level 50 and higher you get 2 ammo per second for your current weapon
So for example someone at level 50 starts with 150 health, has 25% more weapon speed, 25% faster walking, can jump 25% higher etc.

STATUS: The BattleRPG P1 prototype is fully functional and operational. It has been fully tested to work standalone and with dedicated servers (tested with 1.0 and 1.01 beta 4 server and with 1.01 beta 4 client, due to a bug in the retail version the custom scoreboard will only work with 1.01 beta 4 clients). It is however a first step. Future prototypes will probably add things like magic weapons, magic vehicles, artifacts, abilities and ability management. Once most of those are implemented it will no longer be a prototype and will become BattleRPG V1.

2 Stinger clips per second is nothing compared to 2 Rockets per second. Any way to balance this?

Pretty kickass, i'll have to try this out sometime in the next week or so. I hope your able to add some more stuff to it (for vehicles?)
But man, this mod will be perfect to play with that Invasion gamemode that Ganthator (sry for miss spelling it) is making.

2 Stinger clips per second is nothing compared to 2 Rockets per second. Any way to balance this? Not yet, I will address this in a future version (probably with some percentage).

Silly question, if I wanted to host this on my 32 player server, what is the command line entry for the Mutator?
Edit: Nevermind, I found it was ?Mutator=BattleRPG.BattleRPG

Server name? Also, are you going to make this RPGmod like the UT2k4 version? I really liked that with The attributes such as ressuply, ghost and the such. Will you be able to spend XP or Skill Points for Health upgrade, health regeneration skills, weapon damage bonus, etc... like the UT2k4 RPGmod?
Also, I put the files into the right places yet while im playing on BattleRPG it doesnt show my level and XP shown on the screenshot on the first post and my HP goes up to 999 randomly

Can this be played on the PlayStation3 as well? Not yet, I have not cooked a PS3 version yet (I do not have a PS3 version of the game yet either). In theory it should be possible to do this though.

I'm guessing this only works online right? I couldn't get it to work in instant action. It also works if you host locally (does not have to be dedicated). Getting it to work in instant action is on my to do list but is not supported in the current version.

Yesterday i found a WAR server hosting the mod. It was called Slaughterhouse or smt....
But it had no players and lagged at 300

There are several servers running BattleRPG now (e.g. NIR_Meteor and Slaughters Place). If you select not pure in the server browser you can find them quite fast. I also have 2 of them myself which you can find at: http://www.onsrpg.com.

To start off : Great job! It's really nice.
I have however found something odd.
I do not know if it was intentional, but health regeneration starting at lvl 20 stops when on a hoverboard or in a vehicle.
Also, when this mutator is activated, map cycles don't seem to work anymore.
These 2 "errors" were only tested in instant action ( so perhaps these won't be bugged when playing online ).
Keep up the great work though! I'm sure allot of people, such as myself , are looking forward to see more of your work.
Edit: Seems like the map cycling issue was caused by something else, my apoligies

nice, rpgs and shooters have always been my favourite genres, and I've always wondered how the ut rpg mods would play. will download once its out for ps3

This is a good mod so far and it's nice to see the effort someone's putting in! I do however have 2 requests:
1) I've been trying this with the Invasion mod that someone else of this forum has been making but it will not work with that gametype it seems? I've managed to get other mutators working with it but can't get this to for whatever reason. Depending on how difficult/possible it is it would be great if you could get this working with that gametype since for me the main draw of the RPG mutator is with Invasion.
2) Maybe implement a buy-upgrades menu system like the old RPG mod? I feel that would be better than everybody getting the same upgrades with each level. It was a really good feature in the old one how you could spend your experience to upgrade to suit your own playing style and what you wanted. So you could have 2 people at the same level but one has a lot of health but the other has a significant speed increase. It really would add a lot to it i think.

Oh - you'll love our mod/tc then :) Stay tuned. You'll probably see a pretty big announcement from us come the end of January.
It is exactly what you have described and so much more.
Congrats to the guys on UT3RPG. Looks cool. I might poke around in the code and see if I can find out why the weaponbar keeps disappearing, though - checking/replacing the hud in tick() seems like an unfortunate workaround. I'm sure figuring this out will help our team come that time anyway so it isn't exactly like charity. :)
