View Full Version : need help ut2004 keeps crashing on me?!?!

hi i am having a prob with ut2004 crashing for no reason not even 10 minutes into the game and it is always when i am playing it. an error message does pop up and it was dealing with direct 3d and lock failed please help me and tell me what i can do to fix this i do have the latest patch for it. if anyone wants me too i can post 1 of the error reports up if it would help at all. sooo please help me. and when i try to send the bug report it doesn't go through. and also my screen res stays really big and it takes a while for my laptop to do what it does to recover from whatever it is. :mad: :confused:

Always make sure you have the latest video driver installed. Most laptop video cards don't have the power either.

Heres what i would check for
- you have installed directx 9.0 b or a later version
- doesn't sound like vid card is your problem... but you can update drivers if you
like.
oh and if you post your error, people might be able to get a better idea of what your talking about :D

well ut2004 always was perfect on my laptop no problems running, nor graphics problems,the only time it would be a bit fruity would be the sever acting up but other then that it is perfect on here until recently and i will get that error message up real soon o yea and i have the latest versoin of the direct x

I know this is a stupid questions, but its happened to me countless times when I've installed UT, but do you have the 3369 patch?

yes i have 3369 patch and here is one error that just occured on me no less then a minute ago i read a bit of the top half but this isnt the uasul that pops up on ut2004 but i scanned my laptop and found a trojan.vundo on it and got rid of it and it had not popped up yet but i will keep checking in on here to read wat every one says to see if something helps and thx a bunch for helping or trying to help me guys thx

In your UT2004/System folder, there should be a ut2004.log file. Copy the contents from that - It will contain info much more useful to us than the crash box :)
Play UT till it crashes, then get the log :)
