PS3 Splitscreen Question

I can't wait for this game, looks amazing! 1 question though, can anybody confirm whether or not you can go online when playing splitscreen on the PS3 version? And a link to the source of your info.? I would love to have this feature to play together online with my brother. Sorry if this has been answered before, any info really appreciated, regards Lance.

I've asked this twice as well as seen it asked many times. The only thing close to a confirmation people have is an interview a while back saying that they're trying to explore split screen and that it'd at least be 2 player split screen co-op. That was a while ago too. I'm kinda afraid they couldn't work split screen into this game since it's a pretty simple yes or no question and it hasn't been answered for so long. I hope I'm wrong though.

Thanks for the responses guys, was hoping someone knew the answer though LOL. I found this thread on Gamefaqs written by a guy who claims to be a playtester, he confirms splitscreen but can't confirm online and says the devs weren't focusing on testing the splitscreen modes. Hopefully they're not just an afterthought because I love splitscreen gaming.

If that person is indeed legit, it's not looking too good for split screen. You would think they'd want to test that.

i am hoping (if he is legit) that they told him not to concentrate much on split screen is because it could change to 4 players instead of 2. Not likley but i have hope.:)

I would hope that too, but if they had 4 instead of 2, I would think they'd annouce or confirm that. It would increase sales like crazy. If they couldn't get 2 player done right and had to take it out, it'd be in their best interests not to announce it. No previews from any gaming sites mention it. I'll stop guessing now and wait for the release, but I'm really no longer optimistic about it anymore. If it indeed isn't there, I could've been playing the PC version for a while now, oh well.

HAHA, @ the ps3 controller, right now im playing ut3 max 5/5/100% 1280x1024 using a xbox360 usb controller on my pc.

the game works amazingly well with a controller i like using it more than kb and mouse less hassle.

why is this game slower on ps3? im currently playing pc version with xbox360 usb controller playing online* kicking keyboard and mouse players asses without auto aim or aim assist, man this rules i love using my 360 controller the game doesnt need to be slow it works just as well on 360 pad as kb and mouse actually i like it better no more huddling over desk.

ps3 version will probley support a max of 2 players if any, i wouldnt expect for since the games kinda graphically demanding.
