Another Black Screen Crash (UT3 Demo)

Hello Everyone,

I am new here. I was trying to load DM - Heat Ray but it ended up crashing on me with a black screen. I updated the directx, sound card, video card and the processors with the latest drivers. I would appreciate any help. Thank You !

My Specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ (2.01 GHZ)
RAM: 1 GB
Video card: NVIDEA Geforce 7900GT/GTO 256MB (Driver Version: 6.14.11.6375)
OS: XP SP2
Audio: Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Music

seems like a lot of AMD owners are having issues...

Try installing dual core optimizer (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html)

I installed the dual core optimizer. When I tried to start up the demo, the splash screen appeared, then the screen went black and the computer restarted itself. hmmmmm?

Try the troubleshooting tips in the thread listed in my sig.

Also try to launch the game with the -nomovies and/or -nosound option and let us know if that helps. If -nosound works, then disable OpenAL and relaunch the game without the -nosound option and let us know if that works.
