A Remake of the Halo 2 map "Warlock" as CTF. It is a redux, so it is not exactly the same, the layout is about the same though. This is a very early version, VERY early. Not final textures, decos, lighting, or anything. This is basically the layout with some temporary textures. Comments and suggestions are appreciated. This is my third map ever, please enjoy

I think Warlock was more of a DM oriented map, Theres not a lot of leeway for a flag carrier, but I guess its possible :)

This is actually a Scaled-Up version, and it did have Capture The Flag in it, worked fine. This is a "Redux", practically the same layout but with changes and addons. And there's plenty of paths to it. It's very fast paced, I tested it, lotta fun.

Haven't had a chance to actually playtest this, but I definitely will later.

One thing I will say is that some of the textures ought to be changed, nothing major but the floor textures next to those wall textures look weird...

will give a better review later.

Well like I said in my Main Post, the textures, lighting, statics, decos, and almost everything except the layout is NOT final. I will be changing most of it when I get time.

I'm posting a few Halo Screens here for ya... though you probably own the game anyway....

First off, I will say that I am hoping you do some major revamping of the textures, cuz even in Halo, I always thought this map was very bland and kind of an eyesore....

The map plays fast, as it's meant to, but any more than 12 people on it, and it's just a bit too crazy, since UT3 is far faster than Halo as far as gameplay goes.

Also, it feels much smaller than the original Wizard map.

The stairs leading up to those platforms are very much more narrow than the Halo version (probably due to the smaller size of your map by comparison) and in Halo, you can fit just about 4 people side by side on those ramps.

I'm assuming you took out the teleporters since you have the Translocator in UT3...

The center portion should not be on the same linear plane (z-axis) as the other platforms, perhaps it could be raised up a hair? The original version has that area modelled completely different. Could be a good place to put a high-power weapon, super health, armor, or something since it would be a tad harder to get to... unless you just use the translocator...

The flag is also not right out in the open like it is on your map, they are actually hidden behind a wall, which worked to the advantage of both teams. Since it was a safe place for a "guard" to hang out until an enemy came by to get the flag, and also protected the flag carrier for that brief moment before they went back out into the fray.

Hope I'm not being too overtly critical, but I still look forward to this one, could be a lot of fun when finished...

I'd really like to see this work in UT3. I play a *lot* of Halo (3 now, used to be 2 and before that 1), so I remember having insanely fun shotgun CTF matches on Wizard and Warlock. What made you decide to turn a ramp/platform around so that ramp entrances caddy-corner?

This is the Halo 2 Version of "Wizard" known as "Warlock", it is similar, but different. It will be betting some serious upgrades, and it is a slight revamp. I added an "Outer Ring" for more travel space, along with underside of the center, and made it the same height so that accessing it is easier. (The bots have problems when the Paths are at the very end of a jump seemingly)

As soon as I figure out Teleporters I may add them, I am not all too sure how to use them.

And I made it that way so that some Flag Carrier will get confused, as the map is small, you need some sort of obstacle. I am working on new stuffs now actually, I intend on making it very pretty to the best of my potential.

The only thing I'm not digging are those lamp posts everywhere, maybe find a static mesh similar to the one in halo where it's attached the platforms more.

It sounds like you're trying to make Warlock more like the original Derelict from Halo1.
