This is my first publicly released level for UT3. The idea is to get back into level design as a hobby and get used with the new ED. The map is quite simple, it would be really hard to get confused, you got jumppads to get on the towers, a couple of vehicles and a center path you just can't miss.
I find the Nemesis to own in this map, I am thinking about removing it but before doing so I'd like to play test it online first. Offline pretty much proved it had to go.

Replacing Nemesis?

Replacing Manta by Scoprion
Replacing Nemesis by ?
Adding Sniper Rifle in the same WL as the Avril.
Replacing the Sniper Rifle by Shock Rifle.
Removing collision on WL bases.

I liked this map. Nice work.
I thought the vehicles really overpowered it however. I would recommend removing the larger vehicles in a map this size.

Awesome kantham, im a big fan of the original slax as it used to be played alot on tPW server, was also the defualt map when the server crashed :)
Id love to test this map as the first user created map i will download, but can someone tell me how i can get to play it. The 'Published' folder and subfolders i had to create myself in the Mydocuments folder, there was only unpublished with the map i've been working on in the editor. Where do i put the different files that came in the download? All in the published folder?

Cool, I'm glad you guys like my original version as well.
Thanks for the heads up, The STIG. I'll make sure that happens for now.
Jonny, you'll have to manually create that publish folder as well as the path if necessary. The editor creates it when you "publish" a map, and the game use that directory to get it from.
If someone knows how to add a screenshot I'd appreciate to know how.

Hey thanks i made the folder and tried the map.
Very nice and it looks great (lots of fun to play too), afew tweaks needed maby:
Put the sniper rifle on the tower/s and put a shock rifle in the locker instead. Or put the sniper in the centre near the scavenger. It just seemed like alot of snipershots were coming at me. I tested on average then masterful bots.
Maby add an effect for the teleporter? Could just be a sheet with a green lazer texture like the original. Add some chevrons or some kind of team coloured sign in the centre. I have the same issue as the last map of teleporting and running to the wrong base sometimes.
Vehicle wise, mainly good - love the benders and scavenger, scorps are ok. Personally i would try replacing the mantas with vipers, as the manta cant jump anymore and the viper can, would feel nice to fly over the hills like the manta could do in 2004. Possibly try a tank instead of a nemesis but im not sure....its nice to have one heavy vehicle in there so the attacking team think a bit....there will be enough vehicles that can kamikase a tank anyway. Im sure you know but a walker would ruin this map!
Small issues of collision bumping me back when trying to get to one of the lockers, and people standing on the poles seems to be floating a foot above them.
Very nice though i already love it, much fun to play. Lovin the stinger turret btw - whered u get that from, wasnt in the game was it? I wonder how hard it is to make tracks for turrets it is a great feature. Hope someone does a tutorial on it soon.

I Agree with Jonny that Vipers would probably be more fun than Mantas.
Great map to play though can't wait for release

FYI, the stinger turret is part of the game, it's under
NavigationPoint -> UTVehicleFactory -> UTVehicleFactory_Track_TurretBase -> UTVehicleFactory_ShieldedTurret_Stinger

really fun map, looks like it would be a touch crowded with a full 32 people, but I won't hold that against ya.
maybe drop the Nemesis for a neutral Leviathan in the middle somewhere (I'm tired, forgive me if I got the name wrong). That's a slow-mover and a rocket magnet, but powered by a good team it's devastating.
I absolutely LOVE the turrets, they are amazing and quite fun.
I had trouble getting one of the lockers on the red base, kept getting stuck and had to back up then jump into it, like there was a short barrier or something there. (the one on the right side from the red flag).
Also, the ceiling seems just a tiny smidge short when you are in a Raptor, may I suggest just a slight tweak in height? (maybe just the height of the raptor would be sufficient)
Other than that, and the above mentioned material "bug" (the textures blurring out too early), amazing job, can't wait to see a server with this :)

Played it again today and - yes the sniper rifle has to go from the lockers and up onto the towers, bots are raping me with them, especially when the whole group gets them out.
When playing on red, bots get the hellbender stuck on the left hand health in the rocks just before the centre (on red side)
I didn't like the jump-pad on the stinger tower throwing you at a random smaller tower mesh and hurting you. You put health there but jumppads shouldn't hurt you. Maby put a jump pad that kicks you up to this place from near the weapon locker/scavenger below, and put a helmet or something instead of the health there.
Still thinking the viper would beat the manta, and maby the nemesis is the best option rather than a goliath, as its powerful but harder to camp with it.
The wall mesh looks a little stretched, maby tone down its drawscale and duplicate it instead.
Otherwise, all groovy ;)
