I think this is way cool, and I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner.
Compatibility:
Tested offline. Not tested online; let me know if that works.
I started with just Torlan for now... but I think I have Torlan-TwoPaths working online right now, on the Chaotic Dreams server.
8.2.122.155:7777
The only issue so far is that it didn't look pretty in the vote menu. Assuming I did it right. It shows up as
Torlan?LinkSetup=TwoPaths,
as compared to
Torlan Double Prime
Sorta like how it looks if you try to force game type voting. So I dunno if that's fixable or not. But at least it seems to be working so far. There was a bug fix mentioned in the patch about server travel from maps with custom node setups, so hopefully there is no longer an issue. I just now set it up, so I'm not even sure yet. Will find out shortly I guess.
Thanks!

Great to hear. Thanks! :)
So... anyone have requests? Suggestions?
Anyone interested in...
MarketDistrict with only the corners?
Torlan Split_Square?
Islander linking through just the air node?
Conquest style setups (connected cores, all nodes standalone)?

Hey... minor update.
I went ahead and added almost all the TwoPaths (minus Downtown) to the Chaotic Dreams server, and this time I used the AdminPublishMapList command to update the map list. And now they are all on there, but in the vote list they don't show up as "TwoPaths". They show up in the list as a duplicate name of the one they are.
So I have
Floodgate
Floodgate
And the 2nd one is in fact the TwoPaths one if you vote for it. But what's wierd is that the one I added by hand, Torlan TwoPaths, it does show up still as
Torlan?LinkSetup=TwoPaths
which, while is a bit much, at least you can tell which one you're voting for.
Problem is..., I can't figure out what the difference is. And it would sure be nice to know, because it is so much easier to add all these custom node layouts by using the AdminPublishMapList command, than it is to do them by hand.
Any ideas? (I was trying different edits to the INI, but I had to stop for now because there were folks trying to play ;p )

Can you explain how to accomplish creating these or maybe even create a front end for doing this? I tried modifying your code on avalanche so that the middle node(2) is connected to (4) and (3) (creating a 3 path version) but had no success. The game would often crash after I modified the .ini file and I would need to restart to get it working again.

Like the idea of the Conquest setup, that would be awesome. Would probably work better as a mutator that could turn it off and on or something tho...
Anyways, thanks for this, really makes Warfare alot more fun. You have to defend and attack on two fronts, which really requires some teamwork to master.... GJ! :)

Nice one, Xyx. I will definitely check it out.
So, now that you managed to come to a deeper understanding of how the link setups work, do you think you will be able to recreate the SpiderMech's node linking ability for the UT3 version, or won't this be possible this time around?
do you think you will be able to recreate the SpiderMech's node linking ability for the UT3 version
My "deeper understanding" does not apply to the coding side of things, but UT3 code seems to be slightly better structured on the whole so I don't expect this to be a big problem. Standalone nodes are food for thought, though. What if you link the floodgate to your core? I'm also not entirely sure if the Spider Mech will transition all its features to UT3, but that's a discussion for another thread.

Well, I'm not a coder, but that's certainly not what I seem to be reading from those that I've heard talking about it. Quite the opposite actually.
Anyway, for the time being I've had to remove TwoPaths from our server. Still trying to figure out how to get them to show up correctly in the map voting list so we know what we're voting for.
Edit: I keep trying. I removed everything and added Torlan TwoPaths and Avalanche TwoPaths manually. But only Torlan shows up in the list "correctly". Avalanche I still can't tell which version I'm voting for.

I think I figured out why I was having issues with these and map voting online.
It seems that if I have the INI files for these in my local config folder, and they are also on the servers config folder, than to me they were just showing up as the same name, and I couldn't tell what I was voting for.
But if I remove them from my local config folder, then when I go on the server they show up with TwoPaths in the name, and I can tell what I'm voting for. :)
It still shows the wierd way, ie
Torlan?LinkSetup=TwoPaths
but at least I can see what I'm voting for. So these are now available to vote for on the Chaotic Dreams server again.
If you do more, I'd love to see an all Necris version of Powersurge. Thanks for making these, sorry about the confusion I caused with the map voting.
That's mostly good news, then. This means the setups are good for net play, right? That means that unless anyone has any last-minute requests, I'll be moving this to Full Release tomorrow.
