Description: RypelCam is a mod that aims at providing moviemakers better support for the creation of fraggmovies and other movie material from demos.
UT3 already comes with a cutscene system, but that only works in the UT3 Editor. With RypelCam pretty much any cutscene style Cameras can be achieved within demos.
Besides the camera functionality it also adds some comfort functions like the ability to hide the weapon in 1stperson view or to fly arround with the freecam when the demo is paused.

YES YES YES! Rypel is back! Now I sweet movies are going to be made. For people who don't know, Rypel cam is used in like every great UT2k4 movie. This thing is awesome

This sounds great, but I keep getting errors when using that "code typing" thing. Did you put it somewhere else like Fileplanet or something please?

with Rypelcam, the average movie-making fan can make trailers that are better than Epic/Midway's.

Rypelcam came a little too late for UT2004, imo. Glad it's here for UT3 early.

Hmm. I followed the tutorial, but when i tried to open my demo video, UT3 crashed. Any idea why?

Only demos recorded in offline matches work atm in UT3. Or server demos. And only if you use the "record demo" checkbox.

Yeah, I set it to record demo in a bot match, finished the match, went back to community in the menu, found my demo, then when i tried to open it, UnrealTournament 3 crashed.

I have no clue why it didnt load your demo. RypelCam works fine(at least loading a demo is nothing that can be bugged cause of RypelCam) so it must be a special problem with your setup. If you cant fix it make a thread at rypelcam.net and i will try to help you finding your problem.

the ut3 tutorial never runs, just goes round and round. is listed as a foxfire document.
your readme is too vague, since i can't see the tutorial. is there another way to see or hear or read the tutorial?

I had a little play with the Rypelcam in 2K4. loved it.:)

An essential tool for all would be UT3 movie makers.

looking forward to seeing what the more talented movie makers make with this.

Hopefully patch 2 fixes demo rec problems.

If a mutator works for an older version, then it will also work for the newer versions as well.

Really like your mutator! Sometimes I got strange errors and UT3 aborted but that doesnt happens often. All in all a nice and powerful mod.
Btw, I made this Video from the conversion I actually working on with RypelCam!

Hi guys,

I've just tried RypelCam for the first time tonight in UT3 with Patch 2.0. It seems to be recording demo's ok as I can load the demo playbacks afterwards, but I can't call up any of RypelCam's controls during demo playback.

Have any of you guys used it together with Patch 2.0 yet?

I'm kind of having problems with this. The cam really has trouble remembering what direction the camera faces when adding campoints, and the Roll function doesn't work at all. Anyone might know if I've been doing something wrong? :/

Hi guys,

I have installed RypelCam under UT3 with Patch 2.0. I have never used RypelCam and I'm not quite sure what to expect when it is activated. Here is precisely what I did:

Copied Cam.u into "My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC".

Replaced DecalManagerClassPath=UTGame.UTDecalManager in "My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\RypelCam Config\UTGame.ini" with DecalManagerClassPath=Cam.MyUTDecalManager and did the same in UnrealTournament 3/UTGame/Config/DefaultGame.ini

When I do a demorec testdemo for example, I can see the HDD going into overdrive mode as the demo is being recorded. I can open the demo through the Community -> Demo Playback menu in UT3 and it seems to be playing just fine.

However, RypelCam does not seem to be running when I play back a demo as it seems that none of its keys are working. I also can see no visual indication that it is running.

If this is a common problem perhaps you guys can point me in the right direction, if not then I will upload a recorded demo and my configuration files. I would really appreciate some help on this!

Just an update on this:

According to RypeL at rypelcam.net the old RypelCam does not work at all with Patch 2.0. He is however busy with an update, however it seems there is something critical within the engine that is blocking him from continuing. Lets hope he manages to resolve the issue!

I have a question...how is timing works in RCam? I record a clip of demo, and the part i need is placed 17 minutes after beginning. So i scroll it forward, get to the moment i need and start making path...well path made, saved, i load same demo, load path, stand on start position and wait for the time of beginning to come. But boom - this second passed, and nothing happened. No "Pause" mode was enabled. And the clip just goes on like i didn't do anything. That happens to me every time. I made 5 clips of 1 demo and i wasted 2-3 hours on like "trying my luck" - whether the RCam will want to go throw path due to timing or not (yes, it may work sometimes...on fifth time and etc.) What is the problem? And please don't give me advice like "did you press the J button"...

I think patch 2.0 spoiled it all, now 7 and 8 keys are also not working...:(

I also checked the time of all pathes i do. In first one it told "871", but in another one i made, which started on same second, it told "720" or something like that. wtf?

You need to make sure you are using the latest version of Rcam:
v3.02

I downloaded the latest version, but the download appears borked. I get an error when I try to open the zip file: "Windows cannot open the folder. The compressed (zipped) file is invalid."

RypeL Cam 3.09 for ut3 has been released.

Among the new features there is dumpframe recording (UT3 takes screenshots you can convert into a video format afterwards).
