Comments: Don't download this map under any circumstance. It is a simple octagon with a walk way above it and 2 jump pads. Think "Desolation" from halo 2 (which is exactly what I wanted to make anyway, minus the lame hallways on the side). I wasn't going to throw this up for download at first, since its pretty simple and people don't want that. It is my first map, and I was just getting to know the editor. So, whys it up here?
I seem to be getting slightly lower fps then Retail maps, and since its a tad simpler them those, it makes no sense. I want to find the cause so I can nip it in the butt for my next (and first real) map. It could be the 500 static meshes. IT could be that I have some random thing on that I should have off. I just dunno. Also, its better then 95% of the maps already out. They make eyes bleeeeeeed.
I actually enjoy the frantic game play of Derelict / Desolation from Halo, which is why I made one of them to get to know the editor. Recommended player count is 0.
It does have all the things that I *think* a map should have to be worthy of release, which are 1) more static meshes then brush. 2) Full bot support. 3) A screen shot for the menu, because no screen shot is an eyesore.
Download this and insert it someplace you'll never see it again ... like in your custom maps folder. Then don't play it. Kay?
Oh ... why did the file size go up 10 megs when I added music? Srsrly, its being loaded from another package, wtf mate?
