hi folks

here is my very first attempts to walk with unreal engine 3:

http://warby.bitproll.de/wip/unreal_engine_3_test_map_01.jpg

spend roughly an hour with this while learning how to move around stuff with these new widgets.
i am not sure if i will release this simple deathmatch map since it is only a test and all ... but i still wanted to show people ( also i really need to find out how to cook maps without having ut3.exe crash on me D: )

btw this board needs a wip thread :D

Nice looking work

And to the poster above - interesting use of capital letters there!

Please put this in beta to motivate yourself. :) It is nice, reminds me of those old DavidM maps, I think he was the one who had a weird infatuation with sunset lighting.
Did you increase the shadow size on some brushes? How big is the file now?

Great start Warby! Beautiful lighting, especially. That's what I personally feel is missing from those community maps which you'd rate as just 'okay'. Good lighting + average meshes/textures > Bad lighting + great meshes/textures. Of course, if both are great - as this is shaping up to be - you'll have a truely beautiful map! Keep it up and keep us updated with screenshots as you progress. I've got this thread in favorites :)
