Description: Stealth Arena is a mutator for UT3 which gives every player a stealth suit that automatically turns off when a player fires their weapon or takes damage from enemy fire. The stealth suit gives off a ripple effect so you can see players if you look closely.

OK, now that I've had a look at his, nice mut here.
One request tho'; make staying invisible too long unhealthy.
i.e. after 30 seconds continuous invisibility (no shooting) you start to lose health and/or armour.

That's something I thought about too, but decided to make it more vanilla at first and the details could evolve overtime. Ideally once I work out how to add a configuration screen I can add lots of different ideas and the admin can decide which to use. Like maybe when stealth you take more damage or perhaps give all players a weapon that has an Infrared light that lights up players when they are stealthed (too early for this idea).

I might be nice to have a toggle to so that one could increase the "ripple" affect when moving. This would be great for a sniper match, but I'd like better odds of seeing someone who's darting for the health. :) Anyways, awesome mutator!

I assume after not firing for a while your cloak can engage again? If not, it should.

I like the idea of the mod. Going ninja and walking up behind someone to get a perfect flak shot off, then running off and waiting for the cloak to engage again. And the ripple effect keeps it interesting, so others have a chance of spotting you first. IMHO the only penalty for continued use should be that you aren't shooting, and not getting any points, at least in DM. Extra penalties may be necessary in CTF though..

It's like implementing part of the Crysis nano suit in UT3, and it happens to be my favorite part :)

Imagine shotting your enemy from your cloaked snipping point and then sneaking down from your perch to track the bleeding foe who is limping off to get away as they start to bleed to death.

Here are a few mutator ideas that I thought up a couple of weeks back. If you implemented any of them, they would add a lot of variety/strategy to your sniper arena.

Also, is there any chance you could consider making another version where the cloaking affect only kicks on after a killing spree of X # of kills. I think their should be some incentive for people to not camp.

Ok, so I've done some testing on my PS3 and thought I'd give some feedback.

I really like the way you've implemented the "stealth", but the background noise that it creates is very annoying after extended play. Could you make a way to turn off that sound or dampen it (other than using the ingame menu).

Yea I agree with Cold Killer, the noise does get annoying after extended play. Is there a function in the pawn to set the volume of the ambient noise? I will look into it since I will need it also for my RPG mutator :) With this mutator I was able to see how you created a new powerup item and create a new way for me to implement usable skills with a press of a key. Thanks again for creating this nice mutator. Just fix some of the problems such as the ambient noise and it will be good :D. Also when picking up the Shield Belt you are visible to some extent. You still see the glow from the Shield Belt.

I agree. Sort of a new-school darkmatch. You can see the environment, just not the enemies within it. That'd be interesting...

Hi, I just want you to know I like your stealth mod and have been playing it on the PS3, i think it adds a great new element to the game but after playing it for a while i found the background buzz sound to be quite bothering, i was wondering if you have considered removing it or lowering the volume of that sound. But otherwise it is a fun and interesting mod. Thanks

The noise need to be turned down alot! Also try to put that clicking noise the predator makes in there every now and then. I like the mutator, but it doesn't work on dark levels, you cant see anybody at all.

The PS3 does not support custom sounds so he would have to invest the time it takes to make two versions and as this is only a small mutator that may be asking a lot.

I agree with those U ask to reduce the own noise during the invisibility time, but I suggest to increase the noise of the other players, helping every player to know where are the opponents just using their noise.

The visibility duration after the last shot (ot hit) is too quick. Double it.

I love this little Mutator, but since 11-25-2007 Zeo has'nt post here.
So I have made my own version 2.0 for private use......
This is what have I done:
1. Extract the stealthsounds, slow them down, put it in a separate upk.
2. Made a configscreen for setting between fullstealth (original) or like the UT3's invisibility pickup (it's funny), and a slider for setting the unstealthed seconds after firing weapon or injure ((0-10) (0=always stealthed)).

In this circumstances I can't release my changes, because I have no permission ! I hope this wakes the author up !

Great mut., really but needs few improvments. Few my ideas:

-slider, choice how much suits distort texture min=light (hard to see), max=very strong (more easy to see)
-cloacking should take few steps from visible to invisible (like in predator movie) not just cloacking in half sec. Cloacking should take at least 2secs.

Anyway mutator is cool :).
