I thought your textures is not so UT-style. If you create one map with sci-fi packed elements, matches those characters' style, i will absolutely love it.

And do not forget, lights are essential elements in a UT map, especailly in ut3.

That's the whole point, this isn't a UT3 map per se, though you could use it in UT3. I'm not aiming for the UT3 map style.

Also, lighting and textures are no where near done. ;)

How much of the map will you be making? As in will you be doing the single or multi player variant? Either way, I have a feeling it will be fun playing this map.
If you wanted to go the extra mile you could make it so that there was no Y axis and you aimed using the X axis or by holding down another button. Proper Goldeneye controls.
Now those were the days.

I'd be interested in making this map, as well as some weapon models, etc. if some more people wanted to contribute some help. I know there is one called Goldeneye: Source (great mod), and one that was unfinished for UT2k4, as well as a great Perfect Dark: Source mod.

Looking good so far.
Cant wait to see the amount of detail you put into these levels.

Remember to use bump mapping though.

I'm starting the Temple map here soon, but it will probably look a tad more like the Perfect Dark version (textures were a little nicer/darker in that one) and will probably make it a little less rediculously open, but all in all the layout will be the same, cuz that one was always fun for rocket spamming, since there was tons of open space.

I love this! I will be the first to download it when you're done! I just wish someone would make a goldeneye mod on the UT3 engine (similar to the goldeneye mod on the source engine)

I would play it all the time, as goldeneye is still one of my favourite games! :D

What is the roadblock to a UT3 Goldeneye? I would think that the UT3 engine would be more preferable over the Crysis engine. More people have an average computer that can play UT3 great then a suprercomputer that can play Crysis somewhat decently. Also seems like it would be easier to do indoor levels in UT3 than in Crysis.

Oh well, its your choice. Cant wait to see how it forms up for Crysis. Should be very cool.

Also seems like it would be easier to do indoor levels in UT3 than in Crysis.Crysis actually has more modding support than UT3 this time around. Crytek learned a couple of things since the Far Cry and UT2004 days. The Unreal Engine isn't the only tool in town and actually has strong competition from the new Cry Engine. A lot of the larger mod groups have been jumping ship to work with the Cry Engine since it's got a lot more polish to its AI, file structure, editors, and the such. There's no console-oriented cooking process, ambiguous errors (the engine actually manages to catch most of its own errors), and more documentation. You don't need a super computer to run Crysis unless you want to run everything at the highest settings. Crysis actually has modding contests with cash behind them running, unlike UT3. They're doing everything Epic did right with UT2004. In a modding sense, UT3 is a step or three back from UT2004.

Ya Epic kinda messed it up by dual platforming the design from the start. But that's not what this is about, so I'll stop now.

Hope you get back to this for UT3 soon.

SandBox2 is a very powerful editor, and very similar in appearance to Max. Some of the funstionality is revolutionary, but UEd is more versitile all around I think. And there is no denying the ease of use.

well, UE3's material editor is one of the most in-depth tools I've ever seen, Having not worked with the CE2 sandbox, I can't really say anything other than that any engine would be hard-pressed to have something more flexible than that.

3Deeing

CryEngine 2's material editor isn't a node-based editor, but is more like Max's, where as UnrealEd's is more like Maya's Hypershade Material Editor. ;)

I <3 node-based editors. Thanks Epic. :)
