i try all to make work the redirect and its not working...

its like to take the setting from httpdownload but its dont start the redirect

with or without compression...

or a way to boost the default download
to max isp speed?

where do u find exactly the httpdownload section?
in my UTEngine.ini it says:
DownloadManagers=IpDrv.HTTPDownload
but i don't find the IpDrv.HTTPDownload section :/

In previously versions of UT you had to create that section I do believe. I would suggest following the instructions for UT2004 and see if they still work in UT3. I would try this but I have nothing to redirect.

Also, keep in mind that compression does not work yet so any redirecting that would have to be done would be using full-size files.

Compression is still on the to do list. A redirect feature without that seems a bit useless imho. :)

can a official can answer the question?

unreal its the communauty and we need a redirect for make newmap and new mutator and make ut unique like before :)

but now we cant :(

if I am not correct, someone correct me... but i'm thinking that the Cooked maps are actually compressed and ready for deployment?

We've been testing this all night, good news is we have it working, however when you've downloaded the file off the redirect...it then downloads the file again from the server, so its kinda pointless.

you have to tell the server not to allow downloads so it then only forces the redirect... unless it's not working correctly... which would suck.

i hope they will provide a full working redirect feature very soon because due to lack of maps for some gametypes (VCTF for example) people are expecting to play new maps.
But for the moment server admins can't add new maps unless people want to wait for about 20 min to dl a custom map from gameserver...
I wish i could add new maps to my gameserver but can't .

and i put this one ..

AllowDownloads=False

but not working again :(

At the very least you will have to set 'UseCompression=false' since there is no compression to use. :P I still wont say that it will work, Im just saying that line would be incorrect.

:) i run a ut server from ut99 to ut3 ... but i dont put the finger on it hehehe

it's pretty shocking how much stuff/features aren't working if one looks under ut3's hood. by now i'm really asking myself "what's actually working in ut3" instead of "what's not working".

seems like we're almost another 4 or 5 patches away from a game that's working :/

You seem to forget the year-long beta test that was called UT2003. :) UT3 is an absolutely playable game. All of the "features" that you are missing are server-side. The client experience works pretty damn well.

my server its the default server .... 1.00

but my friend and me using patch 101 beta 2 and redirect working great


i just dont install on server but for client this version beta 2 its great

i get invalid url:

but you rejoin again the server and its work ...

but disconnected at eatch vote

my server its open under teck clan on deathmatch we try somes maps now but remember to reconnect after vote :) and sorry i can make more good without the good game first :(

but its a try when you have the files allready downloaded on the next vote for this map no invalid url append
