Looks good. It's a little square in areas and the ramp in the 3rd pick is intersecting with a square mesh that is kind of sticking out, but I like the color scheme. Some lifts in the walls might help the vertical play a bit, otherwise movement might kind of all flow the same direction.
Also, when you link it here, you might recompress them. Over 1 mb for pictures that size isn't good.

Why, oh why do the textures blur out on the meshes if I'm not right on top of them? They do the same thing in the ForgottenPast custom map..
I run the texture detail at 2 and world at 1. The retail stock maps don't do this.. Is there some ini setting that stops this from happening?

Looking good man.
The area with the flak and chest Armour looks like it could use some more light/and or decoration. It looks a bit bland, as far as I can tell from the screenshot.

Same thing happens to me.
Im running on world 2, textures 3.
Im using a 7800gs agp
Looks good by the way. My only suggestion is to round out the trim and corners with curves.

you can add a little more polygons and random crap to the map to make it look neat. it looks like a 2k4 map right now. theres really no reason for me to get 300 FPS when i get 60 on shangrila.

Scale looks horribly wrong.
Especially some floor textures.
Need to blend meshes and bsp in doorways.

Looks nice to me. But Ironic was a lot about curves so curve out those crazy squarish edges or at least make diagonals instead.

It was a great 1v1 mapone of my favs in UT2004 and it feels like its going to be just as great or even better for UT3

Well, obviously you need to put in the lifts still. And I'm having the weird texture display issues too.
But I can tell that a finished version of the ironic layout will work nicely for UT3 dueling.

A "bug":
I played Ironic with JumpArena Mutator, I jumped (maybe) through the ceiling and landed on the outside of the level.
It would be better, if the map is completely closed.

Looks decent but it doesn't feel Ironic to me; it's basically the Ironic layout with decoration. It seems you used whatever textures you had available but the Ironic feeling/theme is gone now.

I'm not too crazy about the step thing. It seems a little large for the room. I like the idea of not being able to double jump on to it however. Having to double jump wall dodge to gain access is a nice feature.

The opening for the lifts seems a little large to me. Not really too wide, but too deep. Just my opinion though.

Would be nice if the armor were scooted a little further around the corner. That way it wasn't visible, or maybe "barely" visible from near the goo. This little area is often a cat-and-mouse situation between players at the goo and at the flak. Gotta kinda give each an equal chance at it. Also, the ceiling feels pretty tight when walking down the incline.

Hiding in a duel is usually a pretty dumb thing to do, but areas like this are neat imo. It is ordinarily a great place to hide if you are trying to health up after a battle and you know your enemy is headed that way. Maybe make the area under the walkway (the vials) a little less visible.

This was one of my favorite areas in 2k4. The wall dodge up onto the ledge pictured above. You had to be pretty accurate to land the jump. This version is a simple double jump with almost 0% chance of failure. Perhaps scoot the ledge a little further back. Would add a nice challenge, especially when being chased.

The "giant shroom" is a little wide. This room has some good battles, but you need a little better visiblity from one side to the other. The shroom is blocking the biggest portion of the line of sight.

I guess I'm being too picky, but I think this ledge I'm standing on here should be a bit wider. Not by much, as it's obviously meant to appear NOT to be a walkway, but I think it could be about 50% wider.

Once again, another halfway hiding spot. This ledge is a nice place to duck under real quick if you are being chased. As it appears here, someone on top can see someone trying to hide under the ledge if they walk to the very edge. If the ledge stuck out a bit further it would be a little more functional.
Some genereal notes:
I too am having the strange display issues. I have a low end system so I have settings turned down. When I cranked them up on high, the problem was gone.
Ditto on rounding out the corners. The map feels a little square.
Overall I really like the idea. It seems that all the important aspects of ironic are pretty much there, but it is not an exact copy. Great job so far.

I see that Konsept isn't going to say anything till the next beta.. so to avoid more posts liek the above (sorry you've wasted your time)

So how is this lovely level progressing .... man it plays super fast and smooth and I like it so far ... the lighting is a bit bright so maybe tone it down just a little. I really like the use of color in this level so definitely keep that going ... it really is a fun level and I am looking forward to the finished product ... please don't forget about this level. :)
