View Full Version : Query port (still random or now fixed?)

I'm not sure this is quite the right place to post this, so if it isn't please move it to the proper location.

I was told/read during the beta demo that the port was somewhat random. One person told me it tried to use 6500, and if that was taken would attempt to use ports in multiples of 100 above that. Is that still the case or is the query now a more reliable port (such as the game port + n or like BF2 where it's 29900, 29901, 29902, etc. for multiple servers on one machine)?

It is still the case as you described it. 6500 is used by default unless that is taken, in which case it increments the value by 100 and attempts again. This is repeated until it finds an open port.

The upcoming patch has a configuration option where you can set the query port manually.
