UT messed up my pc

my internet went out in the middle of UT3's campaign and the game crashed. When i rebooted it now takes like 10 minutes just to boot up any of my games..did it corrupt a hard drive sector or something

its doesnt have the power to corrupt a HD sector.

PC's fail for lots of reasons, generaly the app which was being used when the crash occured gets pegged as the culprit. I wouldnt pin UT as the cause at all, theres heaps going on behind the scenes.

Any other issues other than slow app startup? and is it all applications or just games and 3D accelerated apps?

ive tried COD4, UT3, crysis and gears..they all take forever to start up now...

youre right it could have been something else, its just odd that when comcast started maintenance my internet went out, and the second it did..the game stopped..showed the main menu loading screen..then crashed...and then took FOREVER to load anything..even after rebooting.

Why would the game crash from losing connection anyway

Have you checked the task manager to see what process is sucking up all the resources while the slow down is happening?
