I've released DropItAll for UT3 at my site (http://mep.beyondunreal.com). DropItAll is a mutator that forces players to drop all the weapons they're carrying when they die.

Update

I've updated and released version 1.1. Thanks to Sardonyx for pointing out that vehicle weapons were also being dropped. You can grab the new file here (http://download.beyondunreal.com/fileworks.php/mep/dia3.1.zip).

You have the install diretory as "MyDocuments\My Games\UT3\" folder.
I think it should be "MyDocuments\My Games\UT3\UTGame" folder.

No, I had the same mutator for UT2003/2004 called DropItAll as well.

The earliest UT99 variant was called Pinata. Extrememly fun mute that we used to run on our server all the time.

I also had a similar mut for UT99 called Thief - you would off-hand launch an arrow projectile that, when it hit someone, they dropped a random weapon in their inventory. That was a long time before the Thief mod for UT ever got started.

Hey since you can 1) make mutators and 2) make ones that involve dropping weapons...

Can you PLEASE PLEASE make a weaponthrow mutator for CTF? We can't currently throw weapons with weaponstay on :( Pretty please?!!

Actually I think this is the final if it is like his work on UT2k3 ... and also just so you know there was also a pinata one as well as a mut called Drop Everything for UT2K3 as well created by Mysterial. I have both for UT2K3 and I had pinata for UT2K4. I really like this mutator ... so much so that it is part of my favorites pack .. keep up the great work. :)

Actually, Pinata was a UT99 mod that caused people to drop random health and powerups when they died (not weapons). I wrote versions for UT2k3 and 2k4 and plan on porting it to UT3 when I get a chance.

Well let me thank you for doing so because I used to have tons of fun in UT2K3 playing with that mutator. I had forgotten the difference between it and Drop it all and Drop Everything so also thanks for refreshing my memory. A Pinata for UT3 would be a lot of fun and add some real variety (and surprises) to gameplay so it would definitely be welcomed on my end. I'll keep my eyes out for the new version. Hopefully it won't be too long *nudge* :)

Pinata makes you drop weapons as well as any other items you may have picked up when you die. I run pinata on my UT99 servers and loved it so much i've added the DropItAll mutator to both my VCTF and CTF UT3 servers.

You are correct ... I just played some UT2K3 and made sure only Pinata was active and not only was adrenaline dropped as well as a redeemer (these two things are actually configurable) but all weapons were dropped as well. That makes Pinata the best all around Drop everything mutator since you get some goodies as well. This should definitely be remade for UT3 if possible. Would be cool to get a redeemer when I kill a bot. :)

There is a mutator which does that actually, well as close as you can get to asking for what you want ... its called Vampire (for health) and Energy Leech (for armor). You could never drop health pack or armor because they are applied to your character the minute he picks them up. Unlike the UDamage pickups and other pickups like that where the focus is on upping the powers you possess or the power of your weapon.

Well, from a dead character you could, right? Since he can't actually pick up anything anymore once he's dead. Or did I misunderstand you / miss something?

dude when you are dead its because you are out of health so you can never "pick up" health from someone who is already dead (that is why Vampire was created). And the armor is usually all gone or only a tiny bit is left so again there is nothing you can drop since Armor can't be dropped in small pieces ... so you have to use the Energy Leecher if you want to get armor off of a living/active opponent.

yeah i dont really like those leeching mutators. because you get hit with a rocket once, the opponent already has double your health. so the outcome of the match is somewhat determined by who makes the first shot. and with enforcers, if you and your opponent both have flawless aim, the match could last forever. lol. thats too much imbalance and i think it messes up the pacing of the game. health should be given as a reward for killing so you can go on killing more. how about a vampire mod that only gives you the damage from the very last shot that kills the opponent? or the last 2 seconds since high fire rate weapons have low projectile damage. you could call it the bite mutator. heh. i just don't like running around collecting health and having to avoid combat. i've been doing that since quake and frankly im tired of that gameplay mechanism.

Leeching mutators should not be transferring health/armor on a 1 to 1 scale. I don't think I've found any that actually do that; you get some health from the opponent, but not 1 to 1 like that.

I think I know what he was saying. Maybe script it to where Health and Armor pickups are acted and dropped like Udamage. A set amount of course. Like maybe

Damage < 50 [Therefore] Drop one Health Packet
Damage > 50 [Therefore] Drop one Armor Jacket
Damage < 50 + Double Kill [Therefore] Drop two Health Packets.

And so on, its rough code-like map, but I think you get the idea.

I guess I just don't see any point to this but hey if you can make it go for it. Maybe I will change my mind and use this instead of Energy Leech (I don't use Vampire).

sorry i dont understand what you're saying here. i didn't mean one on one as in getting 100% leech from your damage. i meant as in a combat situation of 1 opponent vs 1 opponent. even if leeching only gives you a small amount of hp, being able to heal yourself while in a combat would make it frustrating for your opponent i'd imagine. not to mention the sudden advantage a longer ranged weapons would receive. a minigunner starts firing at you from the distance and by the time you get him in your range with your flak cannon, he will already have a significant health boost over you. this would be the case for sniper rifle, shock cannon, enforcer, and im probably leaving out something but anyways, basically any weapon with an infinite range would be receiving an advantage with the vamp mutator. i wish i could be more mathematical and i know theres no hard evidence but i've verified this from playing around with the mutator.

actually, for ut99 Pinata will drop everything, weapons, Udamage, Shield, etc. play on a server where this is used everyday.

I have pinata mutator for my ut2k4 server. It makes killed peeps to drop all of their weapons, random adrenaline and randomly health and even redeemer (i have superweapons off)

Anyway thats that.. This mutator seems like very good idd, but hey what should i add to my servers commandline to load this up?

To load this up with your commandline add ?mutator=DropItAll.DropItAll_Mutator

For example how i have it:

Great Mutator. I had been using it for awhile on my non white list servers(obviously). I had to ditch it due to an anomoly that was instigated by collecting an item from a destroyed vehicle. Upon kiling a vehicle and picking up opponents weapons would cause a weapons selection to be added to the stockpile. When scrolling thru weapons (using mouse wheel in this case) a new weapon would appear after the collection of downed opponent vehicle weapons. You now have a weapons view of the Primary fire on the vehicle you recently destroyed and collected wepaons from. The weapons do not work, yet the weapon is available as an option.

This has been experienced by all users during the use of this mut. This is a great MUT! However, I thought sharing our interactions may be useful to address this issue. Please PM or email me for more info if interested.
