Tried 1280x1024 and 1600x1200.... both land me on the desktop

My specs are down below...

22in ViewSonic (not wide screen)

hows about trying a custom resolution via the .ini?
1280x960 is a proper 4:3, unlike 1280x1024.

Also, hows about trying the resolutions from windowed mode?
